    What's your thought's on UFC 214 overall?
Plenty of quality scraps with really only a few dull ones. Jones looked amazing and is no doubt the pound-4- pound king in my eyes. Woodley & Maia may have both hurt their stock after that not so entertaining 5 rounds of whatever you call that, and recent vocal displeasure stated by UFC prez Dana White in the Post Press lol. Cyborg was Cyborg, and props to Evinger for hanging around for a while to make it a bit of a fight at least, she showed she can more than take a punch and has heart. Lawler / Cerrone had some action and altho I lost my Cerrone bet, I couldn't blame the judges for giving the nod to Lawler as he pressed the action more in the 3rd round, which I believe, was the only round up for any debate in that decision. Oezdemir's 1st round finish of Manuwa most certainly sky rocketed his stock and we should see him fight another tough worthy challenger in his next fight. Lamas and Knight put on a show, and altho Ricardo got the 1st round finish, I expect to see plenty more from Jason Knight in the future. Sterling / Barao was nothing too special and one of the more dull fights's on the night to me. Ortega looked really good in the win and should see a big fight next. Albu / Curran was also an exciting fight to me, both them ladies put on a show.
I thought the card lived up to the hype overall, what was your thoughts on the UFC 214 card?

Welcome to the forum Profits! Overall I agree with most of your thoughts. I was impressed with Sterling's ability to wrestle and control Barao. At this point I think the former BW champ is basically shot, fade material for the future. Ortega/Moicano was a really exciting fight and Ortega's striking looked much improved. Would love to see him against someone like Doo Ho Choi next time out

Thanks Hugo, I'm new here and still trying to learn the ropes and such, but really liking the site so far. Was a great night of fight's I felt, and I agree with the Barao statement for sure. A place like Bellator he may still have a run left in him tho. Not sure his current contract, but just brainstorming lol. Ortega vs Doo Ho Choi would be a fun one no doubt!

Ortega fight was the best fight, it also won fight of the night.. All my favorite fighters lost, Cowboy, Maia and Knight..

Cowboy seemed to get cautious in the 3rd and just give in to Robbie's pressure.. I didn't like seeing that as he usually doesn't do that.. I think Cowboy remembered getting blasted by Masvidal... Ruthless Robbie was the opposite, he was on a mission and just got tougher as the fight continued...

Knight got rocked early and it was down hill from there. A poor showing and I was disappointed.. Knight is a tough guy but he needs to not be a punching bag.. A little head movement will do him good.

Ortega is a SERIOUS granite chin, he's stand up has improved leaps and bounds.. He was in with a very game and tough guy with even better striking.. He found a way to win late.. Fought smart and I was impressed that he pulled off the win..

I'm not even gonna comment on the Maia/Woodley fight.. We all saw what happened..

I thought Cowboy won but I'm a Cerrone fan and I also had a 2 team parlay on that fight and the Woodley fight. I was impressed with Evinger even though she was throughly dominated. She lasted 3 rounds with Cyborg and had that been any other girl she may have won. Overall, I thought it was a fun card and definitely one of the best PPV's of 2017.

could have been an awesome card but woodley failed big time. In fact, from what I saw and read about, I don't think I've ever heard a crowd getting that bored during a title fight. Crowd broke into the wave, started waving their phones with light on around for fun and then got into a "this is boring" chant lol imagine dana sitting there fuming

lol that would get the message across

it was smart to put this a co-main title fight. No way they could sell a card with woodley/maia on the top and it's more because of woodley.

Yes indeed, Ortega looked really good and can't wait to see who he gets next. A Dangerous guy that can do it on the feet or ground and take a punch, I can only assume we will be seeing him fight for a belt within the next 2 years, maybe even next year. I have that kinda hopes for this kid after watching what I saw on the weekend. Kid's a beast and is only going to get better I feel! Cowboy was close, I had him in my Draftkings lineups, but he just seemed to be fading in that last round, and the stats we're razor close in that 3rd round and with Robbie doing majority of the pressing forward, which is why I wasn't really too upset to see him lose that decision, it was there for him to win. Maybe was running out of gas? hard to say but really close fight overall right to the end. As for Woodley, yeah that was something else, but after learning about this apparent shoulder separation he supposedly had in the 1st round of the fight, if that's the case, only Maia is the one to be criticized, if I'm keeping it honest. But regardless, the champ stopped like 20 td attempts and managed to get past a tough tough guy in Maia. I also like Maia, but if the gameplan wasn't working, he shoulda tried to perhaps make it more of a go. And if the injury is true for Tyron than looking back at it, shows he can beat the best guys on his worst day I guess lol.

Was Ortega not losing that fight once again before getting the submission....IMO....it was very very sloppy and he got lucky in a way.....

True, he was losing the on the feet battle, but he was still in it and took many hard shots and never looked out of it at all, just kept fighting. And he's is still getting better on the feet and should if he keeps working hard there. What happened when it went to his world that he already basically a master at? Guy was done in an instant. Anyone with that ability mixed with an Improved standup in the near future, and being really tough, to me is MMA Champ material. It's a quality mix to have to not be a one trick pony, ya know? The other guy fought well too and is a hard hitter clearly, props to him but Ortega is the real deal if he wants to go to next level and just improve a bit better on his stand up. But I wouldn't be surprised to see him a future champ, not at all!

I think it was lucky that Ortega pulled off that win. That's not any way to win fights at the top levels moving forward..

Conor could deserve the #1 P4P crown in MMA.

Not even Jones has accomplished as much as Conor has the short amount of time Conor has been in the sport.

I think Jones has beat better competition throughout the years. Conor is certainly a great fighter but few of his fights have been challenging style matchups. He has mainly faced strikers who he can outstrike/knockout. That's not to say McGregor is a bad wrestler or grappler, I just believe that Bones has faced a more diverse array of challenging style matchups and basically dominated all of them.
