I don't write these threads often but when I do they hit big. I like pointing out lines that need to be exploited. If you look at my past two picks they were both on guys who were even money bets but ended up winning decisive lopsided decisions where the backers didn't even break a sweat. In the fight game that's impressive. Heres the proof from the past.
Now for the reasoning of why I have Canelo winning this fight easy. In my opinion Canelo should be a -350 favorite and would have been just a few months ago. What happened in Trout's previous fight had people jumping on the Trout bandwagon. People saw Austin Trout win a decision against Miguel Cotto but the problem is it was an undersized and shop worn Miguel Cotto. Styles make fights and in his fight with Cotto Trout used his superior reach to keep Cotto at a distance and more importantly didn't allow Miguel to get on the inside where he wanted the fight to be. That won't work against Canelo who is a young, big, strong 154 pound fighter and most importantly he's in his prime. Canelo is longer than Cotto and is a volume puncher who will back Austin Trout up the whole fight. The biggest problem for Trout is he doesn't have the power to keep Canelo off him meaning he will be back peddling and doing too much defending to win rounds. Back peddling never looks good in the judges eyes and is exhausting for a fighter. Canelo will rip Trout with combos and while Trout will show his toughness it won't be near enough. Canelo takes this with a easy UD.
