    Bitcoin (Criminal World)

Everything I have read about it is bad.. I researched for hours and all I can ever find is how criminals use it to launder money from stolen ************ and transfer drug money from country to country. It's sad because to me it seems so complicated to use and everything I have read is kinda confusing. It's definitely not something you read and instantly get. I just wonder how these under ground criminals get it and use it so smoothly under the police radar when an honest man can't even figure out the purpose of it....

    1. It's not that hard... I've been of the mindset that if you can figure out PP, then you can learn BTC quite easily.
    2. It's NOT just for criminals. That's hogwash. If that's the case, then why would Overstock.com (a publicly traded company on NASDAQ) embrace it?

Just saying. And welcome to SBR with Post #1.

Everyone is intimidated at first by bitcoins. After a couple of transactions, you won't believe how easy it is to use. Just a couple of clicks for transactions.

Download Tor and go here for the bad stuff. http://thehiddenwiki.org/

Bitcoin doesn't begin to compare with cash as far as crime is concerned. Cash is truly anonymous (except for maybe fingerprints).

I'm failing to see how Bitcoin is hard to understand? There are so many guides on it, in this forum alone!

Bitcoin has nothing to do with a "criminal world" . Sorry CASH is and always WILL be KING for that.
Honestly, buying bitcoin is as simple as buying a gift card online... I'm failing to see how it's complicated at all... Coinbase, Circle, Gemini, itBit, LocalBitcoins, all make it super easy in the USA.

This thread should be removed or the title changed.

Unfortunately I think about 95 percent of bitcoin transactions are used for illegal activities including gambling. Yeah overstock accepts it. That is like one of maybe five legit companies that do accept it. That is why no companies want to deal with it because it is mostly used by criminals. Think about it why would the average person need to remain anonymous when they are dealing with transactions. Obviously people need to remain anonymous because they are using bitcoin for illegal activities. Get real. Don't get me wrong I use it for gambling myself but it will never catch on for legit businesses.

That article is very misleading. Starbucks does not accept bitcoins. At least the one's where I am from in the U.S do not. Also same thing with C.V.S. I went into both places and asked and the cashier had no idea what I was talking about. I think there are some Starbucks in Hong Kong that might accept them but not here.

Airbitz, the mobile bitcoin wallet, has integrated Fold, the Starbucks gift card app that accepts bitcoin payments, into its own app. In announcing the Fold offering, Airbitz said it will be helpful for people new to bitcoin and will encourage more consumers to start using bitcoin. The Fold app also allows users to receive discounts at Target and Whole Foods Market.
Many bitcoin users already take advantage of the discounts Fold provides for Starbucks gift cards; users get a 20% discount paying with bitcoin.
    Airbitz Streamlines The Fold Process

Airbitz has further streamlined the process for using Fold, even though the process is fairly simple to begin with, Airbitz noted in a blog post. By using Airbitz’s buy-and-sell feature, users can link the service to their bank account and buy gift cards directly.
In addition to these discounts, the Airbitz app also allows customers to buy and sell bitcoin through Glidera, another bitcoin wallet.
To launch the Fold integration, Airbitz has developed Starbucks-inspired aprons, according to International Business Times. In addition, more than 100,000 flyers will be distributed outside coffee shops in the next few weeks.
    How It Works

Under “settings” in the Airbitz app is an option to select “buy/sell/spend.” The settings are on the left side for Android devices and on the right side for iOs. Users can then select either up to 20% off on Starbucks or 20% off on Target. Funds can be added by selecting the desired amount for a gift card. Leftover funds can be credited back to the Airbitz app.
Starbucks customers can load bitcoin onto the Fold app, which then transfers the purchase amount from the customer’s bitcoin wallet to a virtual Starbucks gift card. The customer then takes their smartphone to Starbucks and has the barcode scanned by a barista. Fold sends refunds to the customer’s wallet.
Fold Gains A Following In Last Year

Starbucks customers have posted comments on Reddit and elsewhere that they have been using the Fold app, which relaunched in September. The first version, coinforcoffee.com, launched more than a year ago.
The Fold website notes that it is not affiliated with Starbucks, Target or Whole Foods Market. Starbucks declined to comment when CNN reported the Fold app relaunch.
Fold plans to expand its retail offerings beyond Starbucks, Target and Whole Foods Market.

So basically its downloading apps, buying gift cards and all kinds of crap. Dam it would take me 3 hours to do all that crap. Too much work to buy a cup of coffee. I thought I could just go to cashier and send from my bitcoin address. I will stick with cash. I would be in line for 45 minutes trying to pay that way.

It takes 3 clicks and you can do it by gyft card. You just:

    1. Click card that you want such as Amazon, Starbucks, Target, Dell, etc.
    2. Click bitcoin as payment type.
    3. Transfer from bitcoin account.

I'm not recommending this but you can sell bitcoins for gift cards at LBC and make a nice profit.

You'll buy a virtual Starbucks gift card and Starbucks scans the bar code on your smart phone.

I'm not sure if all airlines do this but I fly Southwest Airlines a lot. Instead of paper tickets, they text me my ticket with a bar code and that's scanned by the airlines on my smart phone
    .

    Everythin
g will be paper free some day.

Thanks. Heres a newbish question.. If someone was tracking my address and I change the address while I have the coins in my wallet would that stop that person from being able to track where it goes next?
