ethereum delay
I bought ethereum yesterday says completed, but I never received the funds. Coinbase customer service is useless. Any suggestions?

What did Coinbase CS staff actually say?

And how did you pay? You could say that you will ask your bank to reverse the transaction if they don't supply what has been paid for or give a good explanation immediately.

I sold Bitcoin, because it was like 25 dollars to send. They said yesterday it might be delayed. I did the same thing I always do. Copy my wallet address and hit send. This was my first time buying Ethereum. I used my blockchain wallet that gave me the Ethereum address

There's a couple of things you can do:

Find the transaction in your withdrawals and click on it. Look for a transaction ID. Click on it or copy/paste the transaction ID into https://etherscan.io/

What does the status say?

Well, that's not good. Do you remember seeing a fee when you sent it? You know, Ethereum runs on gas, so you need a little extra Eth to make a send. The extra pays for the gas. With Eth, always a good idea to not send the whole amount but leave some to pay for the transaction.

I've had instances where I made a bad Send before and the amount disappeared for a few days but eventually came back to the sending wallet. Perhaps you will be as lucky or maybe you'll hear from tech support eventually....

Do you happen to remember if you lost the gas fee?

I think I did lose the gas fee. I just now tried to look it up. I had bought Kucoin a few years back and it had switched chains in the meantime. I had two listings - one for Kucoin Shares and one for Kucoin Token (or something like that). I had sent the wrong one, the one that was dead.

15¢ gas sounds too cheap to me. Should be a couple or three dollars, at least, I think.

I'm not sure what will happen but it's hard to troubleshoot over the internet without being there. Usually a bad send fails pretty quick, like a few hours. Perhaps you're low priority and will have to wait it out. I'm not sure what is going on....

Edit: As long as you used the correct address to send to, I don't think it's disappeared.

I lost a ton on some of those NFT drops. You lost the gas if if you didn't get the NFT.

still nothing. Coinbase is still looking into it. It is probably gone at this point. Glad it was just 150 bucks

It's Coinbase's fault. The same would happen to BTC if the fee was too small. But both should be returned at some point. Deposit in LTC or another alt to books.

Oh cool. I was just saying I wasn't sure if this was the case with ETH too.
