    Elon Musk/Tesla Free Bitcoin Scam
There is a successful scam trending on social media right now saying it is either Tesla or Musk trying to stimulate the crypto space economy by giving away #Bitcoin and #Ether

It asks you to send some to an address and you will receive at least double back.

    Obviously nothing comes back.

I read about one person who sent 5BTC (about $35k) thinking that put him in the draw for a car as well as double his money.

I’ve been seeing these pop up on twitter for months. They often do it on Trumps tweets for tons of exposure and then they pump it up with likes. They are clever— they have verified accounts (with very little followers mind you) post a fake screenshot of an Elon Musk tweet advertising the website to get free coin. Obviously I never went to the link but it’s interesting to hear they ask you to send them coin.

They are really good at creating completely phony twitter accounts that at a quick glance look real.

Figured I’d give it a shot. Didn’t think it’d be such a big deal.

                        Apparently a lot of people.

It sounds stupid when it is explained like in post #1, but it really is presented very well.

A sucker is born every minute. Lots of people think Bitcoin is a get rich quick scheme, so I don' really feel that sorry for someone who blindly sends such a large amount of money. A few google searches can save you the hardship.

It's especially prevalent on Twitter replying to the Tweets that are tweeting bitcoin or other crypto news. Usually posing as the guy that invented Ethereum or another high profile person in crypto.

Tough time for people to be getting scammed. Hopefully people get wiser to these things.

No free lunches. Appreciate the heads up Opti.

I’d be surprised if that scam works very often. You have to think the average Joe Schmo reading those posts doesn’t just have bitcoin laying around or even knows how to buy/send coin right?
