Question about Electrum BTC Wallet

Probably a stupid question, but why is the address on my Electrum wallet a different length?

I went to request a BTC payout at a book and pasted in my Electrum wallet address and it didn't fit. I think my electrum wallet has something like 42 characters while my wallet on blockchain has like 33 characters.

Anyhow, sorry if this was covered elsewhere. I was just reading on here about using a segwit wallet and that electrum was one of them, but now I don't know how to send to it. Perhaps the book doesn't allow you to send to segwit wallet?

did u request an ether PAYOUT or BTC? That seems odd...try generating a new address and see if that works...what book are u requesting payout from?

BTC. I've done many before - that's why I feel even more dumb asking this. I wanted to experiment with using eletrum to see if it helped load the bitpay card cheaper/easier. The box where I input my address on the sportsbook only had room for a certain amount of characters and it cut off the address for my electrum wallet before the end of it.

not sure.. If it is a valid address I would email CS at betonline...from my experience @ HERITAGE many times will not allow me to input the btc address in there online box due to the characters. SO I just enter 1234 in address box and put btc address in comments section and chat support to make sure they update..

Is your Electrum wallet address 42 characters long as well?

Not sure I just downloaded few weeks or so ago along with mycelium and have not used yet...Mycelium though which is similar and is not 42 characters...I cant check Electrum as its at my home office...

I ended up just requesting the payout with my blockchain address.

I've double checked so many times and I'm for sure using the BTC version of electrum and the address that I copy is 42 characters long, compared to the 33 that my blockchain address generates. So weird.

What version Electrum wallet are you using? Ver 3? And did you select a segwit compatable wallet on setup?
