Bitcoin transaction unconfirmed for weeks!

I have a transaction that is unconfirmed for weeks now. Maybe due to low low miner fee? I have read there is a way to resend the transaction? Is there a way to get the bitcoins back to my wallet? Tried rebroadcasting it, nothing.

I thought after more than 3 days the funds were sent back to the sending wallet. I have never had it delayed that long, although 10 hours yesterday was a first. The blockchain is all f'd up right now.

Ive never heard of it taking that long... but every night lately confirmations have been taking atleast 5 hours.. its pathetic

Check the mempool size. If it's high, then add a little to the fee.
