Sure, people hate Newsom. Think he does a terrible job. Thats goes with the territory. Not a governor in the US that people dont feel the same about.
Focus your energy inward and be a better person, and you're eyes will open to a whole new more colorful world where you'll see that Cali is actually just fine. And that all along it was you not doing fine.
