Alrite forget venezuela.
Maoist china and stalinist russia both failed the same way venezuela did under socialism and were forced to embrace capitalism to be competitive in global markets. B-b-b-but that wasn't real socialism, am I right?
One might say, the reason countries like north korea and venezuela continue to fail everytime they embrace hard socialism involves leftists stubborn refusal to think for themselves, and learn from their mistakes. US healthcare is merely a microcosm of this.
What's "wrong" with citing venezuela anyway? Venezuela's economy was once the richest in south america. Now its the poorest. US states like california and new york are headed in the same direction. They were both the richest but thanks to socialism and the left they soon will likely be the poorest--just like venezuela.
So is it venezuela that leftists object to is it learning about basic history in terms of why socialism fails and why venezuela is a good example of it?
