Based on all of the information, best conclusion is that he drank to excess before assaulting Ford and doesn't recall doing it.

Aside from living in logical fallacy fairytale land, your post completely ignores actual evidence like all the named witnesses denying it. But hey, "maybe it could have happened so let's assume it did since we can't get in a time machine and go back 36 years" is a pretty reasonable stance to take
