If any of you have even the teeniest qualm about my handling this with ASIC on your behalf then please don't hesitate to say something as once this is officially started there is no going back. Although I work for SBR this will have nothing to do with them so you're placing your faith solely in me that I'll stick this out for you guys. I won't feel offended at all if you prefer to have someone who is owed cash to go represent you instead. Just wanted to make all this clear.
Shari, you've my full support, and as some of the members have already stated if I get something back from the money that I'm owed I'll personally send you a percentage of that money back to you.
Go for it girl.

my funds are written off - if they come back shari can choose the charity they go to. all i want is these muppets behind bars or better still lose all their assets somehow as this will hit the greedy scumbags harder. For added satisfaction the GC broken up and all those muppets sacked, unlikely though!!

I've just heard back from Racing Queensland - the governing body for one of the Australian jurisdictions Canbet wagered on. It seems they were not authorised to publish or use Queensland race fields, and as such, were in breach of Queensland Race Information legislation. This is the same conclusion Racing Victoria have come to. I'm awaiting further details from other states, so will keep you posted. But suffice to say, this is a pretty serious deal for them and can only help the case against them.
i'm not the least bit surprised by this "revelation" but where what have these authorities been doing all the time whilst Canbet and numerous other overseas bookies have been offering betting on Australian racing and sports?

Too blind to see?

They really aren't that hard to find!

Don't get too excited. Neither is William Hill or Paddy Power for that matter. Yet they openly bet on Aussie racing through the UK sites. I'd assume both those would be 1000x the turnover of CANBET. Looks like Racing Victoria and Queensland Racing have some money to collect from those 2 powerhouses.

What's the deal with that?! Surely they have to know they exist and yet Racing Vic came out with a statement damning Canbet because of the HS article so they were obviously pissed. Hell maybe this thread should be charging them a finders fee... that's one way of getting cash back for the guys in here.

Bernard Saundry not the sharpest tool in the shed

Others such as BetJack.com.au, which also would be a higher turnover on Aus racing then Canbet, doesn't have approval. Basically the race fields legislation means nothing in so far as integrity, and doesn't mean anything in relation to the ability of a particular book.
