Default Anyone else catch a virus from First Row Sports?

This is literally the only "risky" site I visit on a regular basis.

Caught a virus a few weeks ago that popped up a fake "Windows System Recovery" window that wanted to charge me $69.99 to run a full scan on my system....fortunately my B.S. meter went off before pulling out my CC.

Ran a system restore to an earlier point and continued using this site and it happened again.

Today, I boot up my computer and Windows won't even start....had to F4 and run a full System Reformat back to the date I purchased the computer. Fortunately everything important is backed up.

I can't see what could have caused this aside from a virus through firstrowsports.tv. I don't surf porn sites or anything else that would be considered risky.

If so, it's a shame...where else can you catch a feed of a two last place teams in the Big West conference?

I also got that exact virus about a year ago. Let me tell you it was suchhhh a bitch. I had to have a computer friend come over to take care of it. I never seen a virus as bad as that one. I knew right away it was some bullshit virus though and not really something I needed to pay for. I didnt get it from that though, I think I got it from some game or something on facebook that my wife and daughter played. Only thing I thought it could have been from but I wasnt positive.

Possibly...I always close out of the pop-up that covers the screen immediately and I've accidentally opened up other pop-ups on that site trying to close out of them.

So, is it like jeffdane says, and I need to either wait for these pop-ups to go away on their own without clicking them, or go in to full-screen and avoid them completely?

I tried to give you points, jeffdane, but it wouldn't allow me. I guess non-pros are only allowed to give out 2 points total per day.

Install adblocker plus as an add-on to your browser. Helps a lot with this sort of thing.

no need for points, like i said, i have no virus protection and never had a problem. initially wait and then go full screen if you want to watch the game, you dont need to go full screen to avoid virus, it just makes the viewing experience ad free. load the game and dont click anything and you shouldnt get a virus, i havent anyway.

Yes, I did and I took it to the shop after using a backup Dell for months cuz I didn't want to get raped by a tech.. but I had to get my sh*t cleaned up. I know it was firstrowsports, and I got it on my labtop too. The tech told me this virus is really bad, but there are worst out there.. and that I got it by clicking or accepting something. The only thing I could think of was firstrowpopups... yep they cost me a couple hundred bucks and a whole lot of hassle. Should of just bought that sports package. Rofl
