Default No Doubt The Pats take the AFC EAST

I was already on the Pats for the Division, but after that game tonight I am sure of IT!!!!

My Review of the AFC East after one week

Buffalo Bills
Can you name their starting quarterback???? Nuff Said

Miami Dolphins
Boring offense, Chad Henne is still young and has a lot to learn. Their defense is young but talented. They will push the Jets for 2nd place in the Div.

New England Patriots
By far the best team in the division. They have a super explosive offense and it showed vs a much improved Bengal defense.Their defense is suspect, but I think with their high power offense it will be able to give up some points.

New York Jets
Could be the most Hyped team in sports history. Sanchez has the mindset of a baseball player. Brian Schottenheimer is just like his dad, conservative and full of shit. Shonn Greene is just pathetic. I WANT WOODHEAD!!!!

bengals are terrible? lol...

i wont give division 2 pats yet, but obviously they've looked best. Jets played a great defense tonight, but offense was still jsut fukin terrible.

Bengals have a great squad bro and pats scored 38 on them...again im not giving it to the pats yet, but there the front runenrs after week 1.

I posted this in a thread back in August. Why people bought into this team and over looked the obvious offensive issues they have is beyond me. They played a team tonight that has a solid front seven, but that secondary of the Ravens can and will be had once they play an NFL caliber QB.

The Jets will be the biggest bust of the season. 6-10/7-9.
Offense:
1. Replaced a 1400 yard workhorse with a 2nd year player that was injured 3 times on 190 carries as a rookie. And just announced that he will wear extra pads to avoid injury.
2. Signed a washed up back who hasn't played well in a cold weather game since 2006, and now half of his home games will be played in less than ideal (San Diego) conditions. LT is not a team player and given recent comments from Rivers and Gates, I think Green and Sanchez will have a hard time dealing with his presence.
3. They have a very unhappy center who will be thinking about his contract, knowing that they took care of D'brick before him.
4. They have a rookie LG
5. Holmes will be coming in week 5 trying to fit into a new system, with a QB with a completely different playing style than what he is used to. Will he be disciplened enough to stick with his route? After playing in a system where free lancing was a must due to the amount of broken plays created by Big Ben escaping sacks?
6. A QB who was 25th in the league in pass attempts and completed 53% for 12 TD's and 20 Int's. And his playoff stats weren't a whole lot better, except in the TD-INT ratio but when you consider he threw nothing but slants and swing passes for the first two games it would have been very hard to thow picks. They didn't "unleash" him (minus a play-action bomb) until they were down big to Indy and he went 17-30. He attempted 5 passes in the first half of that game and two of them were incomplete. So he was consistent with his 50% completion rate in the second half going 14 of 28.
Defense:
1. The best player on the team gave up 20 million dollars of guaranteed money to hold out to be the highest paid CB in the league. That is a monumnetous statement. I don't see him budging much and the Jets know they can't commit to that much money. This is a very interesting game of chicken.
2. Jenkins comments can't be healthy for the unity of the defense
3. Cromartie sucks...he has more kids than Int's over the past 2 years, to go with 19 Pass defensed.
4. Who is going to play free safety? A rookie?
On top of that you have a coach that can't shutup and has put a huge target on his team. I think they will be a train wreck, especially if they lose a couple of games early. Then look at their early schedule (Balt, NE, Miami, Buffalo, Minny, and Denver) they very well could be 2-4 going into their bye week. Do they have the maturity and leadership to overcome something like that?

They actually had a good 2nd half as well. Obviously the kick return kept the offense off the field to start the 3rd quarter. But Merriweather had what should have been a pick ruled a catch by the offense, had the Pats challenged it, it most likely would have been overturned ending a scoring drive. Spikes had a INT go right through his hands that would have stopped a second scoring drive. But either way they went from playing an aggressive pressure with man in the secondary in the first half to a soft zone in the 2nd half. The corners played off the line in an attempt to keep everything in front of them. The only way the Bengals were getting back into that game was to strike quickly. The two scoring drives mentioned above took about 13 minutes. They were down by 28, there wasn't enough time to score 28 points on 6-7 minute drives. And then when the Pats needed to score the most they ate up over 5 minutes of clock and scored a TD.

Excellent game plan by the Pats especially when dealing with such a young secondary and defense overall. It may have looked bad if you just looked at the 2nd half stats but when you take it in context they were happy to give up those yards as the clock ticked away.

That should have happened in the preseason. They should have been working on situational football and discipline instead of:

- Playing with shake weights on the practice field
- Eating cheesburgers on the practice field
- Harrasing news reporters on the practice filed, coaches included

This team will never be disciplined under Ryan!
