ATLANTA AT INDIANA: Nothing here on the team side, as an opener of Indiana -7.5 hasn’t moved. Sharps were stunned, frankly, by the collapse of the Indiana Pacers down the stretch. On reason that Indiana could go 5-25 against the spread is that the money never moved against them during their long slump. Sharps weren’t profiting because they couldn’t believe it would continue! That’s left the Wise Guys out of the mix here until they have a better fix on Indiana’s chemistry issues behind the scenes. There is no fear in backing Atlanta at value prices in later action if the Pacers don’t exhibit teamwork on both sides of the floor in the first game.
The Over/Under has been bet down, going against the normal flow of early action. An opener of 187.5 is now 186. Sources tell us that’s in response to indicators that Indiana’s problems are on offense rather than defense. Betting “Under” is a way of investing in the theme that Indiana has fallen off the pace while not asking a “losing” team like Atlanta to win a bet for you.
