I'm not sure if this pertains to the contests you are playing, but it might be something you should know about, it reads like you need to be a member of the NTRA (National Thoroughbred Racing Association) to continue on to the main event.
The winner will receive an entry into the 2013 National Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas (NHC).* Prize package includes a 3-night hotel stay at the host property and a $500 TwinSpires.com credit that may be applied to travel expenses. Per NTRA/NHC rules, in the event the winner has already won a seat to the NHC, s/he will be awarded a Horse Player World Series Prize package and his or her NHC Prize package will be awarded to the next eligible player in line.
