Default Busy Eagles to Add Gore and Maxwell, Re-Sign Sanchez

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Frank Gore's deal with the Eagles will be for three years, and include $7.5 million guaranteed across the first two.

That's a huge gamble considering Gore turns 32 in May, but he's yet to show any real signs of weardown. Philly's pursuit of Gore and Mark Ingram is an indication Chip Kelly wants a more power-based running attack. We have a hard time believing anyone else came close to offering Gore $7.5 million guaranteed.

Eagles CB Byron Maxwell's new six-year contract is worth $63 million with $25 million guaranteed.

Although Maxwell hasn't technically signed on the dotted line yet, the sides have formally agreed to terms. Maxwell will put pen to paper on Tuesday. Maxwell is a big, physical press corner who will likely play his natural right cornerback position in Philadelphia. They're targeting Tramon Williams to play left corner. Brandon Boykin will return as the slot corner.

Eagles re-signed QB Mark Sanchez to a two-year, $9 million contract.

The deal includes $5.5 million guaranteed. Sanchez can earn another $7 million in incentives. It's believed announcing Jeremy Maclin's re-signing is next on the docket for the aggressive Eagles. Sanchez, 28, finished 2014 with a 64.1 completion rate, 14:11 TD-to-INT ratio, and 7.8 YPA -- all career bests -- but got worse the more he played and shouldn't be viewed by the Eagles as more than a desperate option to start games. As Philly is likely to draft a quarterback, Sanchez's return signals that Nick Foles is on his way out, likely via trade.
