Jets now seem unlikely, but they could always swoop in later maybe.

The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reports the Jets are not among the reported seven teams that have contacted DeSean Jackson.

There are still people inside the Jets' organization that are interested in Jackson, but the rumors surrounding his gang affiliations may have scared off GM John Idzik and owner Woody Johnson. The Jets also could just be doing their homework before making any formal inquiries. Jackson is by far the best receiver left in free agency.

Chiefs are out of the running.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Chiefs have dropped out of the running for free agent DeSean Jackson.

This should send up an immediate red flag to other interested teams, based on coach Andy Reid's history with
Jackson. Kansas City also has a wide receiver need. Per RapSheet, the Chiefs "did research" on D-Jax, and opted against signing him. Jackson is scheduled to visit the Redskins on Monday. Many national reporters expect Dan Snyder to out-bid the field for 27-year-old Jackson.

LeSean is meeting with Redskins Monday

The Redskins will visit with free agent DeSean Jackson on Monday.

Jackson has drawn interest from at least eight teams since being released, but this is his first official visit. Despite adding Andre Roberts this offseason, the Redskins would be getting a massive upgrade at receiver opposite Pierre Garcon if they signed Jackson, and should be able to afford him with roughly $7 million in cap space.

DeSean may not be a free agent for long, his meeting with REDSKINS, the first team he actually visited with, reportedly went very well!

All we know for sure is Jackson had a good meeting with the Redskins on Monday, spent the evening at a club with members of the team, and will meet again Tuesday. All signs point toward a signing happening then, meaning the Eagles would have to face Jackson twice this season.

This is nothing like the Aaron Hernandez case, stop it. Compared to Randy Moss, DeSean is an angel.
