pirates payroll to top 90 million next year?
why is it not like 125 million?
sucks to not have an owner willing to go for it

Sean Rodriguez?
interesting
Just watched the Doc Ellis story "No No: Dockumentary".
The Pirate that pitched a no-hitter on LSD against the Padres on June 12, 1970.
Here's the box score from that game... http://www.baseball-reference.com/bo...97006121.shtml
Far from a gem for Doc as he walked 8 and beamed one batter, But never less a No-Hitter.
As for "No No: Dockumentary". It is a must see for all baseball fans, especially Pirate fans.
I'll definitely have to check that out. Thanks for the heads up, k-m!
Word! I'm still not convinced someone could pitch a game while tripping, let alone throw a no-hitter.
LSD must have affected him differently than everyone else that I know of...
Arch, I must admit that I'm sad to see Clint Barmes go, he signed with San Diego.
He was smoother than silk at shortstop, plus a great guy in mentoring the younger players.
Granted, he was making entirely too much money, in my opinion.
Coming from someone that played the position, the Padres got a nice deal with this signing...
yeah Barmes grew on me for sure
I'm going to predict the Pirates starters for Opening Day 2015:
C: Cervelli
1B: Pedro
2B: Walker
SS: Mercer
3B: J-Hay
OF: Marte, Cutch, Polanco
I really hope El Toro works his butt off this winter to become a legit first baseman.
Need his bat in the lineup, just don't think he's the answer at the hot corner anymore...
