My experience with CS4 was not too bad, but also not good. When I was active lending (2010), I started doing small loans to him (24/30, 30/36) then he started adding on a small loan which could not pay promptly, but he paid it in full eventually. 2 more midsize loans (100/120, 50/60) paid promptly. And then the usual story. A 100/120 grows to 350/420, then 550/700. As he could not keep up even with interest, I tried to help him with a final add on, and interest free for months. As usual, he promised not taking any more loans until paid in full. He paid reasonably for a while, but as I rejected any further loans, he eventually stopped paying. At the end, I sold the balance with a big discount to someone consolidating all CS4 debt.
In hindsight, looks like I was lucky to be on top in the Ponzi pyramid of loans to pay loans. I came up ahead, but it was not worth the hassle and risk. And he shows his true colors now, with his inability to follow a reasonable plan for getting out of debt (using all of his income in +EV poker tourneys, and all points rolled over to pay debt), and so many tricks done to the people who have helped him.
