Default Who here thinks the Giants have a chance to win the whole F'in thing?

Tim Lincecum
Matt Cain
Barry Zito
Jonathan Sanchez
Madison Bumgarner

Best bullpen in baseball

Huge home field avantage at SBC Park

Freddy Sanchez
Pandaval
Mark DeRosa
Aubrey Huff
Aaron Rowand
Bengie Molina
Edgar Renteria/Juan Uribe
Nate Schierholtz

Lot of versatility on this team as well, guys can play a ton of positions, Bochy has options.

Something is happening in the city by the bay...

They definitely leave a lot to be desired power wise, not crazy about the team speed or overall defense (gonna need a lot of strikeouts). They should contend in the west, but they don't measure up to the best in the National League and certainly not with the American league's top teams.

Not the 27 Yankees but that looks a lot better to me than last years squad.. I think most people are underestimating the Sf offense
Huff as your 4 hitter? Rowand who never gets on base leading off?

Good luck.

Yes OBP is another weakness in this lineup, that will HAVE to improve if the Giants are to do anything, and yes Rowand leading off is a complete joke. I'm sure Bochy will be sick of watching him making 1 pitch outs by early May and will go in a different direction.

Maybe he could somehow regain that form
Yea but he hit .261 with a .318 OBP overall on the year. It's easy to look at all the positives. Huff hit 30 homeruns+ twice in his career. Once when he was in Tampa and once in 08. You guys are lucky to get 20 homers out of him.

Sanchez can't pitch on the road. Who knows if Zito will pitch well again. Renteria is a corpse. Who knows what Schierholtz will give you? Sanchez can't stay on the field, DeRosa is not a #5 hitter either.

The bottom line is anyway you slice it the only way the Giants get to the WS is if Sandoval hits .400 and hits 50 homeruns. Until then, have fun being in the wildcard race until you go through a crucial stretch where you can't muster 3 runs for the win.

I look for Jonathan to pitch better on the road this year and Zito and Bumgarner to also pitch well. Bumgarner can be filthy.

Schierholtz is a good player. If Renteria doesn't hit again Uribe will take his place
