Default It's A New Week. Time To Make Some $$ On Monday

Had a rough Saturday and Sunday when it comes to my MLB picks, but luckily I made some good decisions in my soccer picks, which helped me out.

MLB YTD: 23-16 (+127.78)

Last Week Totals: 36-30 (+249.94)

Now it's time to turn the page to a new week, and hopefully start off strong.. Sucks there aren't any early games.. But after just taking a quick glance and now doing any research, not one game really stands out to me.

Who is everyone liking for tonight... Lets start this Monday off with a positive bankroll

I'm on the fence with that one. I have Lynn in my fantasy team, and despite his 2-0 record, his last performance wasn't all that great. Gave up 5 runs to the Reds, and with the way the Brew Crew have been swinging the bat, I could see them pulling out another win, to match their longest winning streak in 11 years. They'll be pumped up for this game..

Chavez was awful vs Angels in I think 1 start last year vs Halos...probably not Ca good enough sample size though. You're right - A's and Rays struggle vs lefties this year and last...a reason I like the Under in the Rays - O's game tonight, along with O's not hitting well lately and facing Archer, who key guys have not hit well. 2 strong bullpens too in that game.

Santiago for the Angels is better pitcher than he has showed so far this season...

however i am also impressed with Chavez.

What scares me is the Angels potent offense.

The Tampa Bay Rays at -120 ML are looking appealing. Archer has pitched well, while Chen has a 1-1 record, but has been smacked around. He gave up 12 hits to the Red Sox in his debut, and then gave up another 9 or 10 against the Yankees in his second appearance. My only concern is that the Rays are averaging 2.1 runs per game, from their last six.

They played 3 away to Kansas City, lost 2 of 3, scored six runs and gave up 11. Then played three in Cincinnati and won 2 of 3. Scored 7 and gave up 13, with 12 of those runs coming in Sunday's 12-4 defeat.

But...

No one on the Orioles has really hit Chen all that well, except Zobrist who has 10 hits in 23 at bats against him. As for Archer, the Orioles team has a batting average of .170 against him. Only 8 hits in 47 at bats. Quite impressive.

The over/under for this game is 8. At first glance I liked the Rays, but will keep the Orioles as a a potential outsider with a price of +100, with even a chance at an U8.. Even the +1.5 for the Orioles is at -150...

I'm an Angels fan, so at times I bet with my heart, even though i feel 'confident' haha.. Haven't really looked into this game yet, but at first glance, I have told myself stay away. Santiago has had glimpses of what he can provide, but he needs to stay more consistent if he's going to help out this rotation. Having Jared Weaver find some consistency also would help.

Pirates - Reds (ML -119)

After Cincinnati's offense break out yesterday, they go up against Rodriguez, who the Reds have seen quite often. With nearly 300 at bats against him, the Reds have a .254 batting average against him. Rodriguez is 0-2 this season, having lost both games to the Cubs. Meanwhile Bailey, has also not been that impressive this season, giving up 4 ER's to the Cardinals in both starts, and 1 HR in each game.

The Pirates are not swinging the bat very well, and with a .219 average against Bailey, and going up against an offense that will be confident after scoring 12 runs on Sunday, I'm leaning towards the home side to come away with the win.

The Marlins may have some value tonight. Zimmerman is due for a positive start, but the Marlins have a batting average of almost .300 against him. He also got tagged for 5 runs against them in his last outing. The Nats have a number of injuries also. Playing at home, I think the Marlins may be worth the +1.5... Might play that in a parlay. The O/U is also set at 7.5, which seems very low.

Miami's pitcher (B.Hand) hasn't lasted more than 3.1 innings. Despite only giving up 3 runs in his three appearances, and all 3 of those runs coming against the Nats, I think the Marlins can make this a competitive match.

I don't get the 8.5 O/U in the O's game. Rays don't hit lefties well and O's just haven't hit lately and haven't hit Archer well as has been mentioned. Actually just checked out that TB has 2nd worst run production in away games, while Balty is worst at home (just 2 rpg).
I'll take my chances with the Under though wind apparently could be a factor. These bullpens are also strong.

7.5 w wind blowing out at that bandbox? No thanx, I don't even have to cap the pitchers or batters to tell ya more times than not that number will be hit at that park w wind blowing out. Maybe tonight the exception but I wouldn't count on it..
