reasoning on taking the red sox? Because by all means stats favor oakland today in everyway.

Oakland-- 2-0 in home day games this year, averaging 6 runs per game. (22-10) last season(18-8) vs right handers
Gio is 2-0 with a 0.43 era(leads the league). Hasnt allowed 1 single earned run in 17 innings.

Boston-- 0-7 On the road starting off 2011. Lost last night 5-0
Buchholz is 0-2 with a 6.60 era.
Boston is averaging 2 runs per game on that 7 game losing streak, while allowing 6
Boston is batting under 200 on the road

You are only looking at this year, which is a very small sample.

If someone had offered you Clay Buchholz at close to even money vs. Gio Gonzalez before this season started, would you not have taken it?

This is a classic case a "buy low, sell high", as you are getting the superior pitcher at a bargain price.

Now don't get me wrong, I do like Gio and I do think he is underrated. I just don't put him on Buchholz league yet.

Me exact thoughts.

Boston will pull it together eventually.

Not anything "superior" about Clay my friend.

You are talking about a guy that was 17-7 with a 2.33 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 28 starts last year with the league hitting .226 against him, and he is now at the age where he should be reaching his peak. He;ll get things turned around.
