If you appreciate forwards delivering assists, Monday was exciting as we secured a 2-0 record in our NBA best bets. Karl-Anthony Towns and Kyle Kuzma exceeded their assists prop, earning us 2.02 units for the day with the two green checkmarks.

The Phoenix Suns hosting the Portland Trail Blazers is one NBA In-Season Tournament game drawing my attention on Tuesday. I placed a bet on the Suns winning the tournament at +3200 and need them to enhance their point differential against the Trail Blazers.

Point differential is increasing in significance during the tournament, but is it influencing player props?

Tuesday’s NBA player props

Jalen Suggs Over 2.5 assists vs. Raptors (-110 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you're unfamiliar with Suggs' game, he has been one of the best defenders at the point of attack this season, and that is a key factor in this bet. Suggs' defense matters because when you look at the Toronto Raptors' offense, the main facilitator is Dennis Schroder. Therefore, Suggs' minutes appear to be very secure on Tuesday as the Magic will use him to disrupt Schroder's game on defense.

Not only will his defense on Schroder make his minutes feel more secure, but it is also the NBA In-Season Tournament on Tuesday, and the Orlando Magic are still alive within their group. The Magic need to improve their point differential, so even if they are winning by 15-plus points, Suggs should still see plenty of minutes.

There's also another angle at play here with Suggs, and I always love it when you already see an edge in the numbers, plus you have some other factors that will provide the bet with a boost. If you go back to the 2021 NBA Draft, it was seen as an absolute lock that the Raptors were going to draft Suggs, but they shocked everyone and went with Scottie Barnes. Suggs definitely hasn't forgotten this and always has an extra bounce in his step when playing the Raptors.

Suggs is projected to have 3.1 assists on Tuesday against the Raptors, which means we can price the Over 2.5 assists at -140, but it is available at BetMGM at -110. Based on this projection, this bet is showing a positive expected value of 11%.

Keyonte George Under 6.5 assists vs. Lakers (+114 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

George has been an assists machine since taking over as the starting point guard for the Utah Jazz, and while the assist totals in the box score have been impressive, I don't think they are sustainable.

George is averaging 12.2 potential assists per game and converting them into 8.8 actual assists since entering the starting lineup. This is an extremely high conversion rate; usually, we only see potential assists convert at a 45-55% clip, depending on the player.

The Jazz also find themselves on the front end of a back-to-back, as they play in Portland on Wednesday night. I think this is a perfect spot for George to see reduced minutes, especially when the backup to George, Talen Horton-Tucker, probably has this game against the Lakers circled on his calendar.

George is projected to have 6.2 assists on Tuesday against the Lakers, which allows us to price the Under 6.5 assists at -136, but it is available at +114 via FanDuel.
