Best WrestleMania picks

WWE Intercontinental Championship winner - Sami Zayn (+120) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Gunther won the Intercontinental Championship on June 10, 2022 when he pinned Ricochet on SmackDown. He has held the title without interruption every day since and longer than anyone in WWE history. The Ring General has defended his title against the likes of Sheamus, Rey Mysterio, Drew McIntyre, and several other unsuccessful hopefuls.

Earlier this year, it was announced that a gauntlet match would determine Gunther’s challenger at WrestleMania 40. Zayn outlasted Chad Gable, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bronson Reed, Ricochet, and JD McDonagh to punch his ticket to Philadelphia.

Recently, Zayn has turned to Gable to help coach him up for his first title match against Gunther. The last two weeks alone have ramped up the intensity of this feud. The energetic superstar has also endured several tough beatings at the hands of The Ring General. All of this seems to lean toward one of the biggest upsets in what will be the biggest WrestleMania of them all.

Jimmy Uso (+170) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Philadelphia will not be the City of Brotherly Love this weekend as the Uso brothers square off against each other in the ring. The path to this match began at SummerSlam when Jimmy helped Roman Reigns retain his title against Jey.

Since then, the two have taken turns distracting the other at various matches along the way. Recently, Jimmy cost his brother a chance to beat Gunther for the Intercontinental title. The once prolific tag team champions have made each other’s lives miserable as of late.

Allowing Jimmy to win his singles match against Jey would set up a perfect redemption story during Sunday’s main event. Should the Universal Championship match be fought under Bloodline rules, Cody Rhodes will need all of his allies, including Jey. It would be a better storyline for Jey to help Rhodes beat Reigns and avenge his loss by taking out his brother.

Total interference in Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns Over 5.5 (-120) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The tag team match between these two and their partners will determine if the title match will be fought under Bloodline rules. The books seem to think this will be the outcome, based on The Rock and Reigns being -1000 favorites to win on Saturday.

If that happens, Sunday will be utter chaos as The Rock and the rest of the Bloodline are free to interfere as much as they want. We have already seen the lengths at which The Final Boss will go to protect his family and the Universal Championship. He will take it even further if given the chance on Sunday.

There are also scores to settle between the Uso brothers that could lead to one or two distractions as well. Depending on how well Seth Rollins feels after his title defense on Saturday, he too, could factor into the mix to help Rhodes finish his story.

This will likely be the final match in what is supposed to be the biggest WrestleMania of them all. We should expect it to have all of the chaos and excitement these last few months have been building toward.
