Popping the champagne is a festive experience Oscar Piastri is becoming well-accustomed to as the McLaren driver won a third straight race by taking the Miami Grand Prix.

Piastri increased his F1 Championship odds lead over teammate Lando Norris at our best F1 betting sites, with the impressive comeback victory.

Max Verstappen, who holds a slim six-point advantage over George Russell for third in the Driver Standings, is receiving the third-shortest odds. His odds, however, slipped from +340 to +700 after finishing fourth in Miami.

🏁 Oscar Piastri (-163)

Piastri's Miami Grand Prix victory was his most impressive of the season, with the Australian winning despite starting from the second row in fourth place. He has won three straight races and four of six overall, emphatically stamping his dominance over the rest of the field, including Norris.

With his current skyrocketing confidence, self-belief and performance level of McLaren's MCL39, he's the undisputed minus-money favorite. There's still a long way to go, but Piastri has already established himself as the man to beat. And it will take a Herculean effort to reel him in, especially anyone beyond his McLaren partner.

The value of his odds is quickly draining, where a $10 winning bet will profit just $6.13.

👀 My F1 championship odds driver to watch

🏎️ George Russell (+3300)

George Russell has enjoyed the most consistent start outside the McLaren drivers. He has finished on the podium four times (three third-place finishes and a second) and finished fifth in the other two races.

Russell is receiving the fourth-shortest F1 championship odds. Nobody below him has a chance to win, even at this early stage. Russell will need to win a race soon to put some pressure on the McLaren duo.

A winning $10 bet would profit $330.

📖 How to read F1 championship odds

Reading F1 championship odds is simple once you know the basics.

Odds are typically presented in a format like +300 or -150. Positive odds (e.g., +300) indicate how much profit you'd make on a $100 bet. For instance, a $100 bet at +300 odds would win you $300, plus your initial $100 stake, totaling $400.

Negative odds (e.g., -150) show how much you need to bet to win $100. So, a $150 bet at -150 odds would win you $100, plus your $150 stake, totaling $250.

Odds also reflect the probability of an outcome. Lower odds (e.g., +100) suggest a higher probability of the driver winning, while higher odds (e.g., +1000) indicate a lower probability. Sportsbooks adjust these odds based on factors like performance and betting patterns.

For example, if Driver A is getting +200 odds and Driver B is at +500 odds, Driver A is considered more likely to win. If you bet $100 on Driver A and they win, you'd get $300 back ($200 profit + $100 stake).

Reading and understanding these odds helps you make informed betting decisions.
