The 150th running of the Kentucky Derby is just over a week away, and in preparation, FanDuel Sportsbook, one of the race's official sports betting partners and one of our best sports betting sites, is giving its customers some extras to take advantage of on its top-rated site.

To mark the milestone 150th edition of the Run for the Roses, FanDuel Sportsbook and the FanDuel Racing app are offering a “$20 No Sweat Bet” to new customers of America's #1 Sportsbook, one of our best horse racing betting sites, and its existing customers.

Along with extra wagering incentive for the first leg of this year's Triple Crown, FanDuel will have its broadcast team on-site at the world-famous Churchill Downs for extra analysis and hype leading up to the race, which takes place on the first Saturday in May.

According to Andrew Moore, General Manager of Racing at FanDuel, “The Kentucky Derby is a special sports tradition and FanDuel is proud to partner with Churchill Downs for the 150th edition of the race. FanDuel continues to lead the industry as the only online sportsbook to offer a single account and wallet for sports and horse racing wagering. Coupling this exceptional race and our leading technology is a unique opportunity to introduce new fans to the sport of horse racing. We will be utilizing our platform to bring FanDuel customers a set of special offers and a one-of-a-kind experience for the Derby.”

A legal Kentucky sports betting scene adds to the excitement of the Big Race and the inevitably huge wagering totals. It marks the first time residents and visitors to the Bluegrass State can place a legal Derby wager on a Kentucky sports betting apps.

More on the coverage

FanDuel's $20 No Sweat Bet will allow all new and old customers to place a wager on the Run for the Roses winner on May 4 and recoup up to $20 of that wager if it unfortunately loses.

FanDuel is also dedicating extra, unprecedented media coverage surrounding the big race. FanDuel TV and FanDuel TV+ will be broadcasting live from Churchill Downs in the Kentucky Derby lead-up starting April 27, with an in-depth analysis of the Derby and the leadup to race weekend from Churchill Downs.

FanDuel's Kay Adams from the show "Up and Adams" will broadcast live on location from Churchill Downs on Thursday, May 2, and Friday, May 3. The show can be seen on FanDuel TV, YouTube, and Max.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring our loyal audience live racing and unprecedented access during Derby Week on FanDuel TV. We thank Churchill Downs Inc. for our partnership,” said Kevin Grigsby, Executive Producer and SVP of FanDuel TV. “There is no bigger event in horse racing than the Kentucky Derby and FanDuel TV will be there for every step of the action.”

FanDuel focus on horse racing

FanDuel, with its Kentucky Derby betting announcement, is demonstrating continued commitment to horse racing and being one of the top Kentucky Derby betting sites

It is the first American-based sportsbook to offer horse racing odds on its all-in-one platform. Other sportsbooks have confined horse racing action to standalone horse racing apps like DraftKings‘ DK Horse and TwinSpires.

FanDuel Sportsbook and FanDuel Racing app are now available in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

FanDuel's ongoing quest to remain the #1 sportsbook in North America requires it to be at the forefront of betting coverage and media coverage surrounding the country's biggest sporting events.

Last year alone, FanDuel saw a 3.7 million new user spike, or 19% year-over-year increase in customers. The company hopes to continue this trend with an added spotlight on events like the Kentucky Derby.
