William Hill Sportsbook Still Dealing With DDoS Attack
British bookmaker William Hill (SBR rating A+) is still battling what it described as a sophisticated distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack.
The sports betting site has advised users that their mobile betting app is unaffected by the downtime and continues to provide updates via its Twitter support account.
The attack first started Tuesday and service has been outright down or intermittent for thousands of users.
DDoS attacks work by overwhelming a website's server with thousands of bogus requests. A major DDoS attack recently took down Netflix and a number of popular website's in the United States for hours.
