WillHill sportsbook policy change for German bettors

WillHill (SBR rating A) management tells SBR that as of Friday, July 20th, players residing in Germany will no longer be able to play in the sportsbook. German players will be allowed to continue to bet in the WillHill casino, poker, and bingo room; those who exclusively bet in the sportsbook are free to request payouts as normal.

On Saturday June 30th, SBR published a video walkthrough of the WillHill sportsbook software. The tour includes a look through the WillHill interface, market offerings, cashier, custom widget applications and more. SBR analyst Natalie Rydstrom also explains the WillHill.com live odds application.

WillHill was recently granted a gaming license in Nevada. In 2011, WillHill acquired three Las Vegas based gaming properties: the deal was subject to the issuance of the license from the Nevada gaming commission. It remains to be seen if WillHill intends to also apply for an interactive gaming license, which would allow it to operate online poker within Sin City's infamous borders.

CEO Ralph Topping was elated over the Las Vegas licensing: “I started filling in the forms on the day of the Royal Wedding - I started at 7am and finished at 11pm. It is a privilege to be the first UK business licence in the US.”

On May 29th, SBR reported that WillHill Sportsbook would no longer service new Australian customers.
