Will Pennsylvania & NY Offer Sports Betting in the Future?

Sportsbook Review's news host Natalie Van Rydstrom covers this week's newswire report that touched on Pennsylvania and New York's interest in pursuing legal sports betting.

The two states are closely monitoring the status of New Jersey's fight to bring sports wagering to Atlantic City casinos in a case that will need the Supreme Court's blessing.

Nevada is currently the only state to offer unrestricted single game wagering, though Delaware, Oregon, and Montana have limited forms of parlay card style sports betting. The four states enjoy an exemption from the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 ("PASPA"), which may not survive through Donald Trump's administration given the former casino owner's fondness of the industry and business acumen. Many cash-strapped states would likely pursue legal sports betting in their backyard to boost their local economy and create jobgs.
