Wednesday’s Sports BIT Show: Wizards-Celtics & 2017 Arizona Cardinals

Washington Wizards at Boston Celtics

This series could legitimately be over instead of tied 2-2 as Washington blew double-digit leads in Boston in both Game 1 & 2 and lost both before going home and winning two games decisively. The winner of Game 5 of an NBA playoff series tied at 2 goes on to win the series more than 80 percent of the time. The Wizards did a fine defensive job on Celtics star Isaiah Thomas in the two games in D.C. He was held under 20 points in both, a first this season. In Game 4, Thomas had only two second-half points. Thomas has complained of being held. “We just have to corral him right,” Washington’s Markieff Morris said. “He's a small guy. At the end of the day, if he's got three players around him, how can you make a pass? How can you make a shot? That's basically what we're doing." What changes might Boston have in store for that Wizards defense in Game 5? Washington also gets back bench player Kelly Oubre from a one-game suspension. The Celtics are -4.5 on NBA odds at Sportsbook Review’s top-rated betting sites. Teddy & Pauly’s “play of the day” is over 215 points in this one.

Deep Dive On 2017 Arizona Cardinals

Teddy & Pauly begin their 2017 NFL team-by-team betting previews with the Arizona Cardinals. They won at least 10 games each season from 2013-15, reaching the NFC Championship Game two years ago. In 2016, quarterback Carson Palmer regressed and Arizona slipped to 7-8-1. The Cards had seven straight games go ‘over’ the total to close out the season after 3-6 to the ‘under’ the first nine games. They were favored in 12 of their 16 games but had only one cover as an underdog: a Week 16 win in Seattle. Arizona’s overall point differential of plus-56 was the best of any team with a losing record in the NFL by a wide margin. The Cards are given a win total of 7.5 for 2017. Going ‘over’ that total would require Palmer staying healthy even though he will be 38 during the season. His best days are behind him and there’s no true replacement plan for him on the roster. Drew Stanton isn’t the future there. Running back David Johnson is one of the NFL’s best, but the receiving group is a question. The defense lost a handful of starters but the two top 2017 draft picks, Temple linebacker Haason Reddick and Washington safety Budda Baker, should play right away. The schedule is one of the easier ones in the league.
