WagerUp player submits sportsbook bonus complaint
A WagerUp Sportsbook (SBR rating D-) player has filed a complaint.
The player deposited $1,000 and accepted a 100% cash bonus with a 10X rollover requirement.
He worked his balance up to $3,479 with the sportsbook. He was limited from $500 per game down to $25 per game prior to having his account closed by the online sportsbook.
The player was advised that he will receive only a prorated portion of his winnings, but he has taken the issue with the math used by the sportsbook.
WagerUp Sportsbook: "We have removed the bonus and prorated the winnings based on a 4.32% rollover completion."
The player claims that he easily placed over $2,000 in wagers, which would constitute more than 10% of the rollover. However, the sportsbook countered that his new balance is $1,048.63. It is unclear if the player factored in the lesser of the risk/win amount when calculating that he has cleared 10% of the requirement.
Sportsbook Review reported in an industry editorial about online sportsbooks limiting player wagers after a bonus. In short, betting sites are free to cut player's limits down to $0 or close their accounts if they wish not to give them a reasonable chance at completing rollover, however, a fair proration must take place, or the sportsbook can simply waive the rollover requirement if enough volume has been received. In this case, the player has contested the math used by the sports betting website.
WagerUp is part of the BTG Global family of sports betting sites, which is most known for brand Dimeline Sports.
