Sportingbet refuses to apply another earned bonus

A Sportingbet (SBR rating D+) bonus complaint has been filed. A player alleges that Sportingbet is refusing to credit an earned €100 free bet. The player claims to have followed all bonus terms, which are referenced within this article. Sportingbet has a long history of not honoring back-end bonuses: bonuses that require the punter to make wagers upfront.

The Sportingbet promotion required a punter to place 10 bets of at least €10 between 21/12/2012 and 31/12/2012. SportingBet promised to apply a €100 free bet to users who followed the promo instructions. Qualifying wagers needed to be placed at odds of 1.2 or greater.

The player tells SBR that he followed the requirement exactly, placing 10 bets of €10 at odds of 1.20 and greater within the given time period. Instead of receiving the €100 free bet on 1/1/2013, the player received generic responses from customer support.

Sportingbet has refused to apply bonuses in the past: In one such case, the Alderney Gambling Control Commission ("AGCC") rubberstamped their decision to deny an earned bonus due to the following rule from Sportingbet:

"Sportingbet reserves the right to  refuse a free bet to a customer where Sportingbet reasonably believes that such  customer has historically or is abusing or defrauding the free bet system, for  example engaging in arbitrage."

Sportingbet player: "I really feel cheated. Not only they refused to credit my free bet, but didn't even bother themselves to give me at least some kind of explanation, so I don't even know what I did wrong. I completed all qualifying criterias and didn't break any terms. There wasn't any "engaging in arbitrage" in any of my bets - it's obvious when you look at them. I want to receive my 100 EUR free bet that I qualified for. Please do something."

SBR has advised the player to file a claim with the AGCC, though it is unlikely that the licensing body will rule in favour of the punter based on the aforementioned case. Players that wish to launch a complaint against AGCC licensees may do so here.
