SportingBet closes player's account after winning free bet

A SportingBet (SBR rating D+) player submits a bonus dispute. The player signed up, deposited, lost his first bet and was then credited a €50 free bet. The player won his wager using the free bet, increasing his balance to €112. SportingBet closed the player's account one day later, citing discrepancy with his account sign-up.

SportingBet player: "I opened an account in Sportingbet. After I lost the first bet, It was given a 50€ freebet, wich I betted and won (about 112 euros). Next day I tried to access my account several times and it was told that it was cancelled and my winnings according to their email."

SportingBet told the player that his IP address was linked to at least one other account. The player explains this by claiming he created his account from an internet cafe. SBR advises players to avoid betting from public places.

SBR is following up on this bonus complaint.

Recent SportingBet sportsbook news refused to credit an earned bonus to a player in a dispute covered by SBR this summer. The player signed up to take advantage of a "risk free" bonus promotion, which only required the player's first wager to be placed at odds of 1.5 or greater. The player made one such wager, but was never credited the £50 free bet by SportingBet.

SBR followed up on the bonus complaint, however, SportingBet cited house policy that allowed for any bonus offering to not be honored at its own discretion. The Alderney Gambling Control Commission rubberstamped SportingBet's decision.
