SBR News Report: Use 2FA at Betting Sites Whenever Possible

Share with:

Sportsbook Review's Natalie Rydstrom covers the recent advisory to players to configure their sports betting accounts with two-factor authentication (2FA) whenever the feature is available.

2FA would require players to enter a unique code to confirm a withdrawal or even to sign on before placing a bet.

A player recently shared his frustration after over $2,000 was withdrawn from his betting account without consent by someone who knew his username and password. The withdrawal would not have been possible if the player had two-factor authentication enabled for his account.

The most common way of verifying a request via 2FA is by using your cell phone for an SMS code or the Google Authenticator application.
