Online sportsbook Pinnacle (SBR rating A+) plans to return to the UK market.

The popular Curacao based betting site is targeting Q4 2016 to submit its UK gambling license and may be accepting sports bets on or before the start of 2017.

SBR reported on Pinnacle's new ownership structure in March of 2015. The online sportsbook cited international growth as one of its key objectives at the time, especially with respect to the Asian market.

Sportsbook Review reported in September 2014 that Pinnacle exited the UK market following the passage of the UK Gambling Law which implemented a point of consumption tax for all non-UK based operators.

Pinnacle had always planned to come back to the UK market in the future. EGR Magazine was first to report a statement from CEO Paris Smith on the license application.

Pinnacle Sports rebrand to Pinnacle
Sportsbook Review reported last week that Pinnacle acquired the domain after years of using the domain. The betting site has officially rebranded to just "Pinnacle", which is what many players refer to the betting site as anyway, and updated their sportsbook logo accordingly.
