Online Poker in New York? NY Senate Says Yes

Card sharks in the Big Apple have reason to be happy this morning.

The New York Senate voted yesterday in favor of legalizing online poker in the state, by an overwhelming margin of 54 to 8.

The bill, which is sponsored by Senator John Bonacic out of the 42nd District, must now make its way through the assembly. New Jersey and California poker players already enjoy legal online poker from the comfort of their own home.

Sportsbook Review will monitor the status of the poker update in New York and keep readers posted. Meanwhile, New Jersey continues to hope that the US Supreme Court will decide to hear their case for sports betting in Atlantic City, which would require a repeal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection of 1992.
