No decision yet in FanDuel & DraftKings' NY Supreme Court case

New York Supreme Court Judge Manuel Mendez has reserved judgment after two hours of testimony was heard earlier today in the fantasy sports betting vs. State of NY case.

NY Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has declared daily fantasy sports betting as no different than traditional gambling and ruled that FanDuel and DraftKings are in violation of state law.

Sportsbook Review reported on November 10 when Schneiderman ordered the two bigest fantasy sports betting websites to stop accepting entries from NY residents.

While an immediate judgment was not given, Mendez expects to have a decision ready "very soon", according to various news outlets.

Sportsbook Review will keep readers posted on the outcome of this case. Just last month, Nevada similarly said no to FanDuel and DraftKings, though the decision was believed to be more about the sites not having the correct license to operate than the skirting of law.

The SBR sportsbook forum are mostly not fans of daily fantasy sports sites and reacted harshly to the fantasy sports betting scandal that rocked the industry after a DraftKings employee won $350,000 at FanDuel.
