MyBookie Player Has Account Frozen Pending Investigation

A Sportsbook (SBR rating C) player has claimed that his account was closed and $4,000 in winnings withheld.

The player reported that he was told that the security department noted suspicious activity with his account and gave him the option of having his deposit refunded.

He denies wrongdoing.

The player told SBR that he opened his account two weeks ago and made an initial deposit of $600 via bitcoin. He wagered sports exclusively - a mix between NHL pre-game and NHL live wagers (he could not share the wagering slips with SBR as his account access was suspended). His last wagers were full game bets on NHL for $400 and $500 respectively on February 7. After logging in to check the status of the bets, he noticed his account was suspended.

At this point the player contacted customer service and was informed that his password had to be shortened and that there were technical issues. However, a few hours passed and he still was unable to log-in - he was then informed the security department was in the process of reviewing his account as it was randomly selected for audit. The player was then transferred to a member of the security department who elaborated that there was suspicious activity with his account and that his only option was to receive a refund of his deposit.

MyBookie confirmed to SBR on February 14 that they are investigating the player's account for his quick score with NHL in-play betting and similar plays to other account-holders. MyBookie acknowledged that they were uncertain on how long this review will take, meanwhile the player is adamant he has violated no rules and that his account should not be in limbo for an undetermined amount of time.
