Las Vegas Sports Bettor Faces Charges of Misusing SSNs

Share with:

Professional sports bettor David Oancea was indicted last week on charges of using phony social security numbers to open up player accounts at Las Vegas Sportsbooks.

Oancea, who calls himself "Vegas Dave", enjoyed a bit of press after a $100,000 futures ticket returned $2.5m on the Kansas City Royals winning the World Series in 2015. He parlayed that good fortune into over 150K Twitter followers and the following year claims to have profited over $2 million on the Denver Broncos beating the Carolina Panthers in the Super Bowl.

Oancea faces a total of 19 counts and has taken to Twitter to address his upcoming day in court.
