SBR newswoman Natalie interviews Executive Director of the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, André Wilsenach. In part one of the interview segment, Mr. Wilsenach gives the background of the AGCC, speaks on how applications are screened, and the role the commission plays in handling player disputes.

The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) was founded in 2000. The AGCC regulates eGambling in Alderney, issuing licences to operators that pass the company's intense scrutiny.

Mr Wilsenach discusses some of the screening process in his interview with SBR Natalie, stating "The operator must pass suitability tests. We want to verify that the operator has the necessary capacity, means, and experience to properly run the business; and has an understanding of the risks associated in the business. We want to make sure that the operator has an understanding in mitigating those risks."

The AGCC requires applicants to pay an investigation deposit of €10,000 at the time of submitting an application. During this step in the screening process, the AGCC thoroughly vets the operator's background. Mr Wilsenach states that once the commission decides to issue a license, the average annual cost ranges from €35,000 to €140,000. The annual cost varies on the size of the business.

On the topic of refusing licences, Mr Wilsenach adds the following: "It is mostly related to concerns that we have about the suitability of either a particular individual or individuals, associates, or funding used in their business."

The AGCC recently issued a full, category one licence to Pinnacle Sports (SBR rating A+).
