BetHorizon voids players winning account

A BetHorizon (SBR rating B-) player tells SBR that his account was voided after he did not submit his credit card paperwork within 48 hours of depositing. On Monday, March 14th the player signed up with BetHorizon and made a $350 deposit by credit card. The player increased his balance to $2,015.

BetHorizon disabled the player's account stating that he was late in providing his credit card information and that his account would remain closed.  The player's documents were provided to BetHorizon on Thursday, March 17th. SBR is investigating. | Full BetHorizon complaint

SBR has confirmed the player's story with BetHorizon. Management states that it requires all players that deposit by credit card to to submit documentation within 24 hours of their deposit, and that the player was granted an extension of 24 hours since he already began to place bets.

BetHorizon states that they believe players who only submit their paperwork after playing intended to make a chargeback should their bets have lost.

BetHorizon management: The customer made the deposit via credit card and then contacted customer service and spoke with a representative. He was informed again of the requirement to send paperwork for the transaction which is clearly stated on the website. So he read the terms and conditions and was told the terms and conditions and was in fact given 48 hours instead of 24 hours which is the norm. This policy is to minimize credit card fraud and problems with our processor, you know how cc outfits are now a days.

SBR's position is that BetHorizon's current policy allows for a freeroll on players. If the player gets off to a winning start, the sportsbook can choose not to pay citing their documents submission rule. The far more logical way to handle such situations would be to suspend the player's account from wagering until the documents are provided.

BetHorizon's current rule and its enforcement are not in line with the industry standard.

BetHorizon is required to honor this player's winnings. SBR will update this report.
