Sportsbook Review reported on October 15 that BetButler was off-line and that history may have repeated itself. BetButler.com went off-line in 2006 and had its domain acquired by existing business BetButler.co.uk in mid 2012.
BetButler players have submitted general payout delays leading up to the suspension of service.
BetButler's former managing co-director William Rollason was also in charge of failed business Farepak, a UK retail company that closed eight years ago with £38 million in consumer debt.
SBR users affected by the sudden BetButler collapse and who are worried about their funds have blogged their complaints in SBR's Sportsbook & Industry forum.
A BetButler spokesman claimed that the amount owed to players is approximately £500,000, according to a report published by Wales.com.
BetButler players who wish to submit their current balances are encouraged to file a sportsbook complaint form.
