Bet365 Sportsbook Exits Portugal Market

Share with:

Sportsbook Review has learned from Bet365 (SBR rating A+) that as of 17 July 2015 customers located in Portugal will have their accounts closed. Portuguese players are asked to withdraw their available balances as normal and to do so before the 31st of July.

Bet365 cited changes in the regulatory regime as their reason for exiting the Portuguese market.

It is expected that additional online sportsbooks will soon follow suit who do not want to accept controversial tax rates to be licensed to serve customers located in Portugal.

Bet365 players with questions are asked to contact the sportsbook through their standard customer support channels. Bet365 customer service is available by live chat, e-mail, or telephone. Players can access this contact information in the Bet365 Review.

Sportsbook Review reported recently that 888Sport also exited the Portuguese market. Before 888Sport, BetAtHome similarly cut off service to Portuguese players.
