SBR Bill Dozer reports:

Player reports two week slow-pay from SportsInteraction (SBR rating D+) as well as a horrible customer service experience. SBR has contacted management today, who stated that a Neteller transaction is now being processed.
"I made a withdrawal on Tuesday Dec. 14th and Thursday Dec. 16th, to my Neteller and haven’t received anything. I have been given every excuse in the book, from "It takes 4 day waiting period before we process withdrawals" - They told me this one 6 business days after my initial request. They also told me "Due to holidays, there are delays in accounting", and the last excuse they gave me was "Your account has been sent to the fraud department for review". Then a couple hours later on Thursday December 23rd, I was told they have been approved but will take another 24-48 hours to process then another 4 days to hit my Neteller. This has been the worst experience ever with a sportsbook and my last time with this book."

SBR Bill Dozer reports: PlaceMyBet (SBR rating C-) gives player the ‘Bait and Switch’ Bonus?

12.27.2004
"I have been playing at Placemybet.com for about 8 months (acct # XXXXXXXXX) and recently referred George XXXXX (acct # XXXXXXXXX,) a friend of mine.  I told him that I received a bonus of 25% and he might get the same.  He called them to open an account and they told him that the norm was a 25% bonus only for deposits completed online, but since he wanted to open with $10,000, they could only do so by telephone and would make an exception and give him the 25% anyway.  He confirmed the 25% for his telephone deposit on three separate occasions, but after he deposited the funds, only a 10% bonus was placed in his account.  When he called to complain the manager said that he would review the phone calls and let him know.  He called later and the manager told him that he listened to the tapes and, despite the fact that three different people told George that he would receive the 25% for the telephone deposit, that was not their policy and they would not honor that promise (so why did they even listen to the calls?).  I also called as the person who had referred George and a woman told me that they would lose their gambling license if they gave him more than is stated on the website for a phone deposit (ironically, they gave me 25% on a phone deposit in April when their site said the same thing it says now). George finally buckled and accepted the 10% bonus because he wanted to start betting his account.  Needless to say, my friend George was upset with me for sending him there."

BetJamaica (SBR rating A+) backed by Olympic and BetOnGames have been successful star performers while BetPanAm (SBR rating F-), proved to be nothing more than an amateur run sportsbook that eventually failed. The move to acquire BOG makes the 3rd VIP acquisition in as many months.

WSEX (SBR rating A) The "class of the Caribbean" makes some noise in 2005.

12.18.2004
This is one sportsbook that has focused on taking care of the player while passing on expensive marketing campaigns including player bonuses. SBR Reporting live from BetWWTS, St. Johns, Antigua:

12.18.2004
Publicly traded BetWWTS has shed its corporate managers, Chairman of the Board types and returned to great service and strong bookmaking. The founder, Billy Scott, finally had enough of the corporate decisions which he felt was jeopardizing BetWWTS’s leadership position within the industry. After a late summer attempt by the board to cut costs and increase profits, Mr. Scott had seen enough. The Chairman of the Board and the company president were sent packing. Billy Scott, the founder of BetWWTS and the largest shareholder, is one of the wealthiest men in the industry with a net worth estimated to be over $300 million dollars. Mr. Scott has now brought in his own management including the return of Stuart, the very talented bookmaker and Jessica who is easily one of the top operations managers the industry has ever had. SBR can report that this operation is one of the best managed operations in the industry. An operation of this size is a challenge but WWTS runs like fine precision clock work and is quite impressive. It was a year of change for BetWWTS in 2004. The end result is a Billy Scott installed superstar management team dedicated to providing players a world class experience.

SportsInteraction (SBR rating D+) reconsiders decision to void UEFA wager, offering the player partial winnings. The player has accepted this settlement and withdraws his complaint to SBR. SportsInteraction believes this is a fair resolution and has agreed that it was wrong to wait until after the event to void the wager.

SBR Bill Dozer reports:

12.17.2004
SportsInteraction (SBR rating D+) cheats player of winning wager. SIA has voided a wager on the UEFA cup match between Panionios and Dynamo Tblisi, citing that the match was fixed. SIA admits to suspecting that the match was tainted well before the start of the event yet they did not cancel this player’s wager until the game had concluded. SIA claims that they waited to void the wager in order to verify that the match was indeed fixed.  These actions are unacceptable as the player risked his funds without the possibility of winning. If this wager had lost, and the event appeared unscripted, the player would have lost his funds.

SBR Bill Dozer reports:

BetAustralia (SBR rating B-) closing its doors. Players may withdraw their balances in full. Funded accounts at the time of closing will be transferred to sister sportsbook, Canbet (SBR rating B+). In recent months BetAustralia has experienced website downtime and has stopped offering reduced juice. IAS LTD, the parent company of both sportsbooks, believes BetAustralia clients will notice an improved level of service under Canbet which utilizes better resources in the UK. Canbet will continue to offer reduced juice at -107.

Robbie McPhail,

12.11.2004

who stiffed players as the owner of the defunct Apex Sportsbook, is using the Apex website to promote his sportsbook affiliates. ApexSportsbook.com features ads for Pinnacle Sports, Hollywood107, Sportingbet, SBGglobal, Cybersportsbook and Mybookie. SBR is asking these sportsbooks to withhold any commission payment to Robbie or to work out an arrangement where the stiffed players can begin to receive payment. SBR will be able to provide a list of players owed. Robbie’s new sportsbook, PlatinumSportsbets (SBR rating F) is also promoted on this site as well as his other sites which include Askthebookie.com.

SBR Bill Dozer reports:

Sportsbook.com (SBR rating C) scares another player with the "account audit". SBR receives regular slow-pay complaints from Sportsbook.com players who find their accounts frozen due to an account audit. This audit often follows the player’s first above average-sized withdrawal request. It can be very stressful for long time customers who never previously won a large amount and were unaware of this practice. SBR tells the player that history suggests the funds will arrive in a few weeks or less, but this does not stop them from asking about a sportsbook who will treat them like a valued customer when they are fortunate enough to go on a winning streak.

“So… now we are at the point where they are telling me numerous times that they are ready to release the funds, but somehow they keep putting it off and not getting back to me in the time frames promised. They also have me talk to a different person each time and just give me the run-around with vague statements like "we are working on it", and "you will hear from us real soon". I am holding out hope they will deliver the funds that I requested soon, but frankly the way they have handled this gives me a lot of concern. They have gladly and quickly taken any money I have paid to them, but seem to be avoiding having to pay me for my winnings.”

SBR Bill Dozer reports:

12.09.2004
BetCSI (SBR rating F-) threatening player who requests payment. A player who has demanded his winnings, after waiting over two weeks, was told by CSI that they may report his gambling transaction to authorities. Management tells player: “Keep in mind that you have performed online gaming in your jurisdiction.  To which judiciary agency should we report your transactions to…State or Federal?” CSI is a no-pay sportsbook attracting players by telemarketing with promises of speedy payouts.

SBR Bill Dozer reports:

12.09.2004
BCN Sports (SBR rating C-), who canceled a players wager without merit, has reversed that decision, crediting the player with the winning bet. BCN has requested that SBR notate that they had emailed the player about the cancellation prior to the start of the event.
