Dimebetting (SBR rating F) closed. The site is no longer offering lines or processing payouts. Dimebetting former owner, John Vega tells SBR that he does not have the funds on hand to pay players, and is attempting to obtain a loan. The situation is similar to the one Dimebetting was in only a few months earlier; before being bailed out by, and subsequently controlled by 777Rock. The two sites have split as of last week and are no longer affiliated. However, Scott, owner of 777 tells SBR that he will take on player account balances once again, this time at 777Rock.com. John has promised to reimburse 777Rock when funds are released by his "investors".

"The Prick" went a respectable 2-1 with his picks in week 9 which saw only 5 posters win the $100 prize from BetCRIS.

"Well, boys, I thought we were all getting along just fine. A littlte chest-beating, whining, and gloating is to be expected, and I gotta beat a group of ya to get a little cheese from CRIS....and that’s ok. But one of you fairies crossed the line, and now it’s personal."

Oasis (SBR rating C-) steals portion of player balance. The sportsbook has decided to terminate relationship with winning player, but instead of paying him in full, the book is deducting funds in the amount of $1,000 of already-earned bonuses and retroactively charging him fees for Neteller deposits for the life of his account. These fees amount to $780. Wilson, Oasis’ Client Services Manager, agrees that this player did not violate any rules and that the possibility of sticking players with fees should be noted on the website. Currently Oasis lists free Neteller deposits as an incentive and there is no mention of the potential for these fees to be passed on to the player at a later date.

777Rock (SBR rating C-) ends partnership with Dimebetting (SBR rating D), switches to ASI software. Two months after bailing out insolvent Dimebetting and launching on the Dimebetting platform, 777Rock ends affiliation with the sportsbook and moves to office in Santa Ana, Costa Rica. 777Rock will be reassessed after completing plans to upgrade website and to add Neteller and credit card processing in mid December. 777Rock ownership is known for its successful credit business and tells SBR that they are now using the facilities of one of the industry’s largest credit operations.

Gibraltar (SBR rating C-) UPDATE:

11.07.2005
Management agrees to pay player $1,900 and change policy. Gibraltar’s General Manager, Andrew, tells SBR that the player will receive free-play bonus winnings via Neteller by 6PM tomorrow. Andrew also states that Gibraltar will no longer confiscate free-play winnings when the relationship with the player is terminated by the sportsbook.

Gibraltar (SBR rating C-) contacts SBR to explain balance confiscation. Management states that they will not honor $1,900 in free-play winnings because the player is a "professional who targets bonus offers". Gibraltar agrees that the player has not violated any rules but the book reserves the right to remove players at anytime and therefore prohibit them from reaching the 30 day rule required to validate funds won from promotional offers. Players should be aware that Gibraltar may apply a subjective label to account holders and void winning wagers that could have been placed at other sportsbooks at better odds.

Gibraltar (SBR rating C-) confiscates player’s winnings from free-play wager that was awarded upon sign-up. The BetonSports family of books has been known to void bonuses, and winnings from those bonuses once deciding they no longer wish to service successful bettors. Unjust confiscation of funds was a large factor in Gibraltar’s downgrade from C to C- earlier this year although management partially reversed its decision.

SBR Bill Dozer reports: Two Royal Sports (SBR rating D) bettors complain of payout problems.

11.05.2005

"Hello , I’ve been trying to withdraw $2000 for the last 4 days ,i know its not panic time yet however the worrying part is the lies they tell , "ok it will be in your a/c tomorrow etc etc " , after numerous phone calls , e-mails , live chat there csd supervisor george has just informed me that after checking with accounting ,they don’t have any record of my request , what bull****, he tells me he has personally now put in the withdrawl request and i should have the money in my neteller a/c within 48 hours , if this doesn,t happen what can i do , appart from coping it up the kazoo? I have had many dealings with on-line sportsbooks and this is the first time I’ve had a problem ,I used to check with your site before opening new a/cs butI stopped, i guess i got complacent , well this is a wake up call , i won’t be opening any a/c,s in future without at least a c rating from you guys ."

"I have an account with BetRoyal which i opened about two weeks ago. I loaded it up with $400 using click2pay and went on a great run. My balance now is over $6,000. For the past few days i have been given the run around about payment. they are telling me since i used click2pay they have to figure out another way to pay me back other than what i had requested (bank check, western union). thank you"

It is unknown if these are isolated cases or the beginning of Royal’s latest accounting problem. Curently SBR is monitoring only the two complaints shown above.

Sportingbet (SBR rating C) stealing player balances? SBR has received reports from two players who have had funds confiscated. The book’s emailed explanation to these players states that this is occurring because these bettors have been depositing for the sole intention of receiving the bonus and therefore are in violation of the bonus rules. The book calculated how much the player will now receive by returning funds up to the amount deposited and thereby voiding winnings and legitimately earned bonus funds. The Sportingbet Group has historically allowed multiple accounts within their many affiliated sites and has promoted their bonus plans independently. SBR had previously verified that players were encouraged to take part in independent incentive plans and use multiple accounts within the family of SBT Plc sportsbooks. Thus far SBR has email history suggesting that Sportsbook.com and sister sites have unjustly confiscated over $22,000 in account balances. This gaming giant has been the source of serious complaints in recent months and will be reassessed pending management’s actions on these cases.

Sportsbook.com (SBR rating C) and the Sportingbet Group’s accounting errors leave players without access to funds for weeks. The operation services over 50 sportsbooks and many players unknowingly utilized more than one of the heavily marketed websites. Sportingbet has recently told some of these players that they would have to consolidate their accounts and that they would receive their balances via book-to-book transfers to one of the family’s websites. Bettors have reported waiting two weeks for five-figure sums, as the book attempts to get its records in order. Although this delay is frustrating, SBR has told players that this is likely a botched procedure that will be corrected in time. SBR to inquire with management.

SportsbookUSA (SBR rating D-) loses accounting manager and slow-pay complaints fill the SBR email box. Although the book is in what seems to be a permanent slow-pay state(a payout within three weeks is considered fast), Futurebet’s former accounting manager, Michelle was organizing payout plans for each "squeaky wheel" who complained to SBR. SBR hopes to reestablish communication with the troubled company and continue to assist players with delinquent withdrawal requests.

BetOnUSA (SBR rating D-) slow-paying customer owed $4,700. The player’s first payout request was in the form of a check that had bounced. The player is also waiting for a Neteller payout for over a week. BetonUSA complaints have been on the rise since the start of football season.
