Sportsbetting.com accuses player of fraud and seizes balance

A Sportsbetting.com (SBR rating C-) player says that his $8,000 balance was seized. In July, he deposited $500 and increased his balance to approximately $8,000. After requesting a $2,500 payout, Sportsbetting.com accused the player of fraud, confiscated his winnings, and refunded his $500 deposit. Sportsbetting never gave the player an explanation for the seizure. SBR is discussing this dispute with Sportsbetting.

12Bet confiscates bonus and 20% of player's winnings

12bet (unrated) confiscates €449.30 from player. A player deposited €900 and received a €180 bonus. After the player completed his rollover, 12bet docked his account with the following explanation:

We regret to inform you that after a thorough investigation, we have found sufficient proof that you had breached Clauses 2, 3 and 11 of our Bonus Promotion Terms and Conditions...However, after considering that you are a new member, we will only reclaim the actual bonus amount credited into your account amounting €180 and the 20% of your winning which is €449.30.


The terms referenced by 12bet prohibit non-recreational play, and the usage of multiple accounts. No explanation was given to the player regarding which applied to him. SBR is following up on this dispute.

 

BetHorizon feedback wanted

A BetHorizon (SBR rating B-) player reports a slow-pay. On September 7th, the player requested a $2,916 withdrawal to his Moneybookers account. To date, he says he has not been paid or given an update by BetHorizon. SBR is confirming the dispute with BetHorizon. BetHorizon players with payout feedback are asked to write to SBR.

Betoto reinstates player's account

Betoto (SBR rating C+) update. On October 22nd, SBR reported that a player had €733 frozen by Betoto without an explanation as to why. After lengthy discussions with SBR, Betoto reinstated the player's account. Betoto provided logs to SBR showing abnormalities with the player's account. SBR agreed not to disclose these items for security reasons.

On 10/26, a BetPortugal (unrated) player requested a $950 withdrawal. The player writes to SBR that BetPortugal first told him that they needed to replenish their Moneybookers account before sending his payout. On November 11th BetPortugal informed the player that the sportsbook was undergoing an ownership change, and that a new account would be created for him. BetPortugal claimed that his winnings would be available for withdrawal . SBR is investigating this complaint. | BetPortugal addresses complaint

BetUS confiscates $2805 in player's winnings

A BetUS (SBR rating D+) player states that he had $2,805.70 in winnings confiscated. On October 29th, the player says he won a Pick-4 racebook wager on the Meadowlands track. The wager paid $2905.70. After being credited with the win, his account was locked. The player says he called BetUS and spoke to a supervisor named Mike, who allegedly informed him that he was warned not to bet "those tracks". The BetUS supervisor credited him with $100 from the win, and refused to reinstate the rest of his winnings. SBR is following up on this dispute.

Parlaymakers wager dispute update

On November 18th, SBR reported that Parlaymakers (SBR rating C) canceled $4,000 worth of a player's teasers. The player had originally bet $1,000 on five teasers, all including the Baltimore Ravens leg of -1.5. Parlaymakers cited a rule disallowing more than $1,000 on any teaser team. Parlaymakers claimed that the player was aware of the restriction, but could not prove this. Since the wagers were canceled prior to any of the games beginning, the player rebet the teasers elsewhere. Parlaymakers has agreed to credit the player a $1,600 freeplay, which is equivalent to the amount of equity the teasers held.

Xlbet complaint update

11.22.2010


Xlbet (unrated) update. On November 21st, SBR reported that an Xlbet player asked for a €470 withdrawal via Moneybookers on 11/1. Xlbet tells SBR that the player had not completed his rollover at the time of the payout request. The player has now met rollover. Xlbet stated that his payment was sent to Moneybookers today. SBR is confirming with the player that his funds were received.

DailyDime has been downgraded to F on the SBR Sportsbook Blacklist. On 11/20, SBR reported that DailyDime's manager told a player that the sportsbook was  in financial trouble. Since that report was published, a player who requested an $1170.34 check on 10/30 has come forward telling SBR he has received no payment updates.

BTG Gaming provides DailyDime with betting software, web hosting, and credit card processing. The hosting company, which also powers Dimeline Sportsbook (SBR rating D) tells SBR that they have removed DailyDime's manager's website access due to unpaid hosting fees. DailyDime's manager, who refers to himself as "Johny Anthony", has not returned SBR's calls or e-mails.

How DailyDime players can request their funds
BTG Gaming tells SBR that any DailyDime player who deposited with their credit card processor will receive the amount of their deposits back, including the player who reported the $1170.34 slow-pay. BTG went on to say that if DailyDime would agree to sell its domain name, BTG would assume full responsibility of all players balances. To date, DailyDime has not made contact with its players, host, or SBR.

SBR advises DailyDime players not to send any funds by Western Union to "John Anthony", as he has lost access to the DailyDime website and does not have the power to add funds into a player's account. SBR has been assured by BTG Gaming that his website access will not be turned back on until the $6,500 in pending player withdrawals is paid. | DailyDime statement

Betway (SBR rating D-) has addressed the dispute reported by SBR on 11/17. A player had a balance of €130 confiscated after he made a withdrawal request. At time of the seizure, Betway stated to the player that he was guilty of operating multiple accounts. Betway did not offer any evidence or give the player a chance to refute the claim. After SBR followed up on behalf of the player, Betway provided evidence that the player operated a third account to take advantage of a free bet promotion. Betway expressed a willingness to revisit other complaints reported by players in cases of alleged fraud. | Betway statement

Xlbet slow-pay complaint #5

On November 1st, an Xlbet (unrated) player requested a €470 withdrawal via Moneybookers. Xlbet wrote the player telling him the money would be sent soon. The player has not yet been paid, nor has Xlbet responded to any of his subsequent inquiries. Xlbet players have reported five instances of slow-pay, and are owed €2055, with the oldest payment request made on June 18th.

DailyDime failure to pay anticipated

The manager of DailyDime (SBR rating D-) has acknowledged the sportsbook's poor financial standing. The message was addressed to a player that wrote to SBR for dispute assistance. On October 10th, a player attempted to deposit $1,000 to DailyDime by credit card. His deposit was rejected, but due to the player's history with DailyDime he was preauthorized for the amount with the understanding that DailyDime would contact its processing company to rerun the deposit.

The player won a $25,000 NFL parlay later that Sunday, and had increased his balance to $65,000 in the next few days. However, DailyDime learned that the player's deposit was declined not by their processing company, but instead by the player's bank. The player confirms this, stating that he called his bank and was told that he could then reattempt the transaction with the vendor. After DailyDime learned that the deposit was rejected due to the player's bank, his balance was voided on the grounds of 'freerolling' the sportsbook.

In a lengthy e-mail to the player, the manager of DailyDime pinned the decision not to pay the player on his hosting provider, BTG Gaming. He also elaborated on financial challenges faced:

Right now, basically, DailyDime is on life support and I'm going down with the (expletive). We're not a large book by any stretch of the term and I myself am not a rich man like a lot of other sportsbook owners. The host wants to set up a three way call with myself, him and you and basically have me tell you that the winnings are no good since the deposit can't go through the processors (again, our processors are complete (expletive) right now so technically that's accurate). This industry is a tough industry to crack and like I said, DD is on life support, but I'm not willing to let go of it yet, nor am I comfortable just telling you your winnings are no good with us, considering the business you gave us in 2009.


SBR spoke to BTG Gaming and learned that DailyDime is provided with hosting, software, and one credit card processor. BTG Gaming does not stand for nor hold the funds of DailyDime players. The owner of BTG Gaming states that he would be willing to acquire the domain and assume responsibility of DailyDime players balances, but tells SBR that DailyDime's manager is currently late in paying for hosting fees and has six pending player withdrawals that have not been filled for a total of $6,500. BTG stated that they have been unable to reach DailyDime's manager and have since disabled his backend tools to access the software, and may take the site off-line if its hosting bill is not paid in the next month. | DailyDime forum discussion

Lay104 player confirms payment

The Lay104 (SBR rating D) player from SBR's 11/12 report has confirmed payment. The player had asked for a $6,000 check on November 2nd. He received checks on November 12th and November 18th, paying him in full. Lay104 had not updated the player for three days on the status of his payout request, citing time spent assisting with charity endeavors for "victims of the mudslide" that occured near the compan's land-based casino. Lay104 is a sister-book to BetFirstClass (SBR rating D).

WSEX Update: $171,253 owed to players

WSEX (SBR rating D) update. A player reports requesting a $416 check on August 10th, and not receiving his funds as of November 19th. WSEX has not provided SBR with any updates since November 1st, and is currently slow-paying 21 players a total of $171,253.

BetUS bonus dispute reaches SBR mailbox

A BetUS (SBR rating D+) bonus dispute has been filed. A player deposited $5000 to BetUS in September, receiving a $2500 freeplay bonus that carried a $65,000 rollover. The player won approximately $2500 with his freeplays. After the player completed more than 60% of his wagering requirement, he states that BetUS closed his account and confiscated $2500, rather than pro-rating any of his bonus. SBR is following up on this dispute with BetUS.

Parlaymakers cancels $4,000 worth of player's teasers

A Parlaymakers (unrated) dispute has been reported. On November 11th, a player made five bets of $1000 on a 2-team 6-point teaser, taking Baltimore +7.5 and Indianapolis -1. Approximately ten minutes before the Baltimore game began on Thursday, Parlaymakers voided 4 of the wagers stating that its limits were $1000 per identical teaser. Parlaymakers has been unable to show a printed rule with this limit, the player has also denied seeing any warning of this kind. Parlaymakers stated that the teaser wagering page had the following warning when the player placed duplicate wagers: "Multiple Teaser wagers on the same teams with the same lines that exceed the wager limit for Teasers will not be allowed." SBR is discussing this dispute with Parlaymakers.

Unibet player reports that funds were seized

A Unibet (SBR rating B) player reports that he had €455 seized. On October 19th, Unibet closed his account and paid him €2682. His balance at the time was €3137. When the player asked about the missing €455, he was told that no customer service was currently available in Portugese. Unibet has not elaborated on the case to the player or SBR to date. On November 5th, SBR reported that Unibet seized $905 without providing a reason. As a result of Unibet's handling of accounts, Unibet was downgraded by SBR on November 3rd.

BetWay confiscates €130 from player citing multiple account violation

On November 4th, a BetWay (SBR rating D-) player deposited €40 and received a €20 bonus. After completed his rollover, he requested a withdrawal of his €130 balance. BetWay subsequently closed his account and seized his funds, accusing him of operating multiple accounts. As with other BetWay confiscations, no evidence was offered by BetWay to support its actions either to the player or SBR.

SportingBet voids player's winnings

On October 30th, a SportingBet (SBR rating D+) player placed three wagers on in-game soccer corners, winning €1500.  An hour after the game, SportingBet voided his winnings and told the player that his wagers were entered late. SportingBet offered no proof to the player, and is not communicating with SBR.

Stryyke Sportsbook still off-line

Stryyke Sportsbook (SBR rating F) is still off-line. The scam sportsbook went off-line on October 31st, shortly after having its gaming license revoked by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority of Malta. Stryyke players have now reported over €33,000 in unpaid winnings.

BetOnline247 player reports a €100 slow-pay

A BetOnline247 (SBR rating D-) player reports a slow-pay. On October 8th, the player asked for a withdrawal of €100 by Moneybookers. BetOnline247 told him that the payout would take from 2-30 days to be completed. SBR is following up on the complaint.

QuickSilverSports payout complaint #8

QuickSilverSports (SBR rating C-) payout complaint. On September 12th, a player requested a $5000 withdrawal via Moneybookers and has yet to receive payment. This is the eighth outstanding complaint against QuickSilver. QuickSilver has not communicated with SBR regarding its financial issues. QuickSilver players have reported being slow-paid a total of €13,541, with the earliest withdrawal pending since July 15th.

WSEX Update: $170,853 owed to players

Two WSEX (SBR rating D) slow-pay complaints have been reported. Player 1 asked for a withdrawal of $565 on October 3rd, player 2 requested $1,700 on October 1st. WSEX's last payment was confirmed on November 4th by a player that received $3,000. WSEX has not provided SBR any payout updates since November 1st. Players in need of assistance with WSEX are asked to submit a sportsbook complaint form.

Betoto voids player's winnings without providing explanation

A Betoto (SBR rating C+) player reports that he had €341 voided. On 10/17, he deposited €400 and accepted a casino bonus. After fulfilling wagering requirements, he attempted to withdraw €741. On 10/21, the player realized his account had been closed. Betoto e-mailed the player stating that they would refund his €400 deposit; no explanation was given for the voided casino winnings. SBR is investigating this dispute.

WagerUnit offline with players funds

11.15.2010


WagerUnit (SBR rating F) is offline. SBR spoke with the hosting company that provided WagerUnit with betting software, BTG Gaming, and learned that WagerUnit ceased providing payment for its hosting services and was subsequently disabled in mid-2010.

The manager behind WagerUnit has not taken the site back online under another platform to date. An SBRforum reader reports having a check for $850 bounce in December 2009. WagerUnit has been downgraded to F.
