Sabina Mazo vs. Mariya Agapova
UFC Women’s Flyweight Bout
Saturday, October 09, 2021 - 10:05 PM EDT at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas
Sabina Mazo
Sabina “Colombian Queen” Mazo is a Colombian mixed martial artist currently fighting in the UFC Flyweight division, and is also a former Legacy Fighting Alliance flyweight champion.
Before signing with the UFC, Mazo accumulated a record of 6-0. She made her UFC debut in March 2019 against Mayna Moroz; she lost via unanimous decision. Of all her professional accomplishments, she is a two time LFA Flyweight Champion - winning against Shannon Sinn and Carol Yariwaki.
Mariya Agapova
Mariya Agapova is a Kazakhstani mixed martial artist currently fighting out of the UFC Flyweight division. Primarily fighting out of Russia, Agapova compiled a 6-0 record prior to her debut on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2019 -- she fought against Tracy Cortez and lost via unanimous decision.
She then went on to make her Invicta Fighting Championships debut in 2019 against Alex aconners; she won via first round submission.
Fast forward to 2020, Agapova signed with the UFC and made her debut against Hannah Cifer; she won via first round submission, earning the Performance of the Night bonus.

Prediction
The current at your Top Sportsbook are: Sabina Mazo -182 and Mariya Agapova +157 via BetOnline (Sportsbook Review).
Sabina Mazo’s first professional career loss was at her UFC debut, but that has not held her back. She is an aggressive fighter with a high output - she averages 6.56 significant strikes per minute and has surpassed 100 significant strikes in 3 of her 5 UFC fights.
Mazo also has lengthy limbs, and will have a slight reach advantage at 70-inches. Her legs are long too, and she uses her kicks to help keep at range.
Mariya Agapova is also an aggressive fighter while also mixing in takedowns; she averages 1.23 takedowns every 15 minutes. In her aggressiveness, she likes to swarm her opponents, but that gasses her out since her cardio is not in tip-top shape. It affects her defense and lowers her guard.
I envision Agapova swarming Mazo and gassing out into the second round. Mazo will be able to control the pace, and could also win this fight inside the distance if not at the scorecards.
