The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to the Apex Centre in Las Vegas for another eventful night of mixed martial arts. Let’s waste no time because the fight odds are now available for us to delve into some parlay betting picks for UFC in Vegas 33 – headlined by middleweight contenders Uriah Hall and Sean Strickland competing live on ESPN this weekend.
Nicco Montano vs. Yanan Wu
UFC Women’s Bantamweight Bout
Saturday, July 31, 2021 – 9:05 PM ET at the Apex Centre
Following a two-year layoff, the Ultimate Fighter 26 winner, boxing, and Jiu-Jitsu practitioner Nicco Montano makes a return to the UFC octagon.
During Montano's previous UFC bout, she came close to landing 200 significant strikes versus Roxanne Modafferi, so it becomes evident that we don't have to worry about her striking output and potential of swaying the judges in her favor. Alongside that high output of boxing, she's no slouch on the ground, and this weekend she'll face a lower level of competition in comparison to her previous professional bouts.
Since making her debut in 2017, Yanan Wu has under impressive going 1-3, with her lone win coming against Lauren Mueller.
Wu stems from a background in Chinese Sanda, which mainly focuses on full-contact boxing or kickboxing, she also owns a BJJ blue belt, but her lacklustre fights in the UFC leaves us with some red flags.
UFC Parlay Pick
Despite the two-year layoff, Montano should own the advantage in all areas, and if ring rust is nothing more than a myth, it's hard to envision Wu walking away with her hand raised this weekend.
I anticipate Montano dictating the pace and moving forward with a higher output of strikes; owning the size disadvantage shouldn't be too much trouble. With a higher grade (purple belt) in BJJ, I believe she'll possess a more excellent ground game than Wu.
The available UFC odds with Sportsbook Review for this are juiced in favor of Montano for a good reason. More experience, higher output, and a potential advantage anywhere the fight takes place gives us a good reason to position her as our first parlay pick.
Rafa Garcia vs. Chris Gruetzemacher
UFC Lightweight Bout
Saturday, July 31, 2021 - 11:05 PM ET at the Apex Centre
Rafa Garcia was handed a nightmare matchup during his UFC debut. Even though he gave up all three rounds to Nasrat Haqparast, his previous regional scene fights are evidence of his worth.
This time out, Garcia will be provided with a winnable fight – hence the significant bookmaker's odds were looking at.
Gruetzemacher hasn't proven to be a key player since his Ultimate Fighter come up; with just one win inside the UFC, his lack of participation and old age can't be viewed as anything but negative.
UFC Fight Prediction
Much like Montano, Garcia will have the advantage in all areas. Excellent cardio combined with non-stop pressure will overwhelm Gruetzemacher. A heavy top game and an ever-growing skillset aged just 26-years-old will be too much for the Ultimate Fighter alumni to handle.
A walk down boxing style from Garcia could cause his opponent many problems early on; a high pace with beautiful boxing fundamentals may counteract the forward pressure of Gruetzemacher with a first-round knockout. Gruetzemacher's striking defence isn't pretty, his hands can be found dropping, and he doesn't check leg kicks at all.
