Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs. Cyril Gane
UFC Heavyweight Bout
Saturday, February 27, 2021 – 11:55 PM EST at UFC Apex
Ciryl Gane (7-0-0)
Watching Ciryl Gane inside an MMA octagon with just three year's experience (7-0) is quite a spectacle, but if you're familiar with the sport of Muay Thai, you will be aware of his martial arts experience.
Gane is former Muay Thai world champion and has trained at the highest level for the past decade, so when the technical well-versed fighter you see inside a UFC cage puts on a display, hopefully, this back information will assist your understanding.
Before he transitioned to MMA, Gane went a perfect 7-0 in Muay Thai before capturing Muay Thai gold. He has yet to taste defeat in professional competition and proves his dominance under the UFC banner.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik (11-1-0)
Much like his opponent, Jairzinho Rozenstruik may just look like any old newcomer with a small win streak (11-1). But, if you delve into his past, you'll find a long history of combat sports experience that brings a wealth of knowledge to the mixed martial arts world that is the UFC, and we can't overlook the knockout artist in this spot.
Rozenstruik is no stranger to a striking matchup, which is precisely what he'll get when facing Ciryl Gane. He's competed in over 80 professional bouts, with career highlights holding the SLAMM Soema Na Basi championship three times, WLF (Wu Lin Feng) championship, and won the DangerZone world kickboxing championship. Since competing for the UFC in February of 2019, he's already holding the second-fastest knockout record in UFC heavyweight history.
Kickboxing and Muay Thai are a deadly combination of skills to possess if you want to be a mixed martial artist and Rozenstruik has both a background in both.

How Can Rozenstruik Win?
The fight-ending knockout power of Jairzinho Rozenstruik has been a persistent threat to the majority; just take the Alistair Overeem fight as an example.
Overeem was able to outscore Rozenstruik through the first twenty minutes of their fight, and then during the fifth and final round, the Suriname native landed his dangerous counter hook.
The same counter hook he attempts to lure his opponent to every time he fights, but will Gane fall victim to the trap?
How can Gane win?
Gane enjoys staying on the outside with a high-level technical offence from his Muay Thai background; he often holds a reach advantage and will utilise an inside leg kick to gauge his range. He will throw up multiple combinations, switch stances and present constant movement while standing.
His ground game is worth a mention, three of his six career stoppages were by way of submission. Something that Gane could surprise us with.
Gane vs. Rozenstruik Betting Odds Advice
The betting sites' current odds are heavily favored towards Gane. With a familiar opponent in Junior Dos Santos receiving the same fate from both men, predicting this fight is more complicated than the -264 price tag suggests.
I believe Gane will hold all the advantages that can win him the fight, but it's his first main event five-round contest, and as we know (see Overeem fight), Rozenstruik can finish a fight with one punch in the fifth round.
Although the odds are not currently available, I am interested in the over 2.5 rounds. Placing money against the fight-ending power of Rozenstruik is not something I'm willing to do. I would lean towards Gane winning based on his athleticism, speed, striking skill, and movement but there's no value to be had.
