Anderson Silva vs. Uriah Hall
UFC Middleweight Bout
UFC in Vegas 12 – Saturday, 31st October live from the UFC Apex Center
Anderson Silva (34-10-0)
A fourteen-year career under the UFC banner with the title of former undefeated, undisputed middleweight champion, Anderson Silva will take center stage this Halloween 2020 but has ‘The Spider’ still got it?
Before breaking records was the in-thing, Anderson Silva was the record to beat. Beginning his professional career with a 17-0 undefeated record, he had also obtained the UFC middleweight championship and defended it on sixteen consecutive occasions. He still holds the longest title reign in UFC history, holding onto the belt for 2,457 days.
Silva’s downfall came in 2013 after suffering back to back knockout losses to Chris Weidman, and since age has caught up with the Brazilian, he has not been able to achieve past successes. Now 1-6 in his previous seven contests and aged forty-five, can a drop-down in competition assist Silva back into the win column for his retirement fight?
Uriah Hall (15-9-0)
I will never forget the name, Uriah Hall, simply because his introduction to the UFC roster provided a highlight-reel finish that remains in circulation today. A spin-kick TKO on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ reality television series left an impression, now a veteran in the business, he will put his tools to the test against a legend.
A ten-year age gap and a two-fight win streak will be assisting Hall’s confidence heading into the fight, and a savvy striking battle should play-out right into the younger fighter’s hands. Hall has spent most of his career fighting for the UFC, and it is rare we see him go to the judge’s scorecards win or lose.
An excellent bit of matchmaking, in my opinion, as both men offer-up an exciting striking offense. Hall is coming off wins over Bevon Lewis and Antonio Carlos Jr but can he outclass the future Hall of Famer in Anderson Silva.
UFC in Vegas 12: Silva vs. Hall Early Prediction
How can Silva win?
A good old ‘Spider’ up-kick could put anybody’s lights-out. If I remember correctly, Anderson gave both Daniel Cormier at light heavyweight and Israel Adesanya a run for their money. You really cannot count an old dog out, especially an intelligent one.
Silva is going to land, that’s a given. He just needs to make sure it counts; in my opinion, quick and early should be the plan.
How can Hall win?
Patience and speed could be the key attributes that carry Hall to victory next weekend. He’s experienced enough not to be fazed by the Anderson Silva name, as I believe a lot of Silva’s recent opponents have.
Knockout, Hall has knockout power in hands and feet as proven by his fight history. More recently, a left hook to a prospect in Bevon Lewis ended in a walk-off KO. If it is not broke, do not fix it – headhunt the weakened chin of Silva.
Silva vs. Hall Betting Odds Advice
The bookmaker’s current UFC odds are favoring Uriah Hall, as expected. But the problem lies with the price.
The best sportsbooks are expecting the fight to see five rounds, and I expect a stone-cold knockout from either side. +140 for the fight to end inside the distance is hard to ignore.
For the legacy of Anderson Silva, I genuinely hope he can exit the UFC on a high-note win or lose, but our bet this week will rely on any fighter losing via knockout or submission.
UFC Betting Prediction: Fight to end inside the distance at +130 with BookMaker
